Edmund Rice Community Services VIC

Edmund Rice Community Services VIC Every day can make a difference. Building Victorian communities where people thrive and belong. We engage. We listen.

Edmund Rice Community Services (ERCS) creates life-changing learning and growth experiences for people facing adversity in our community — especially young people and their families. From our youth camps to our advocacy work, everything we do at ECRS is guided by one core belief: that a sense of belonging and connection lays the foundation every young person needs to thrive. Our programs are desig

ned to respond to the unique abilities, needs and circumstances of each young person or group in our care. Then, we use empathy and understanding to tailor every ERCS experience to meet the individual needs of the participant in front of us. To develop their skills and confidence — and inspire change that’s felt for generations.

Day one of our three-day Active in Nature Pathways program with Youth Projects kicked off on Friday. It is a chance to try something new, get outside, and choose your own adventure in the outdoors. While learning about possible career or study options.
Next week, we head to the cliff for some rock climbing. Looking forward to seeing everyone continue to challenge themselves and grow.

Foundation House Walk and Weaving day at Wombat State Forest. 🌿
A beautiful day out on the Lerderderg Heritage River walk in Wombat State forest with the Burmese and Rohingya community, joined by the amazing Macedon Mums weaving group.
Together we shared weaving, stories, culture, and connection — a reminder of how powerful it is when communities come together to learn from one another.
Laughter, learning, and new connections were made along the trail.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so special. Here’s to more shared moments and stronger community ties! 🌏✨
Thank you to: Your support made this day possible.

St Bernards Students Bringing Joy to Mindalk Primary School

At Edmund Rice Community Services, we are proud to support initiatives that strengthen connection, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging for young people. The introduction of St Bernards students at Mindalk Primary School is doing exactly that — creating moments of joy that ripple far beyond the classroom.
The St Bernards Students are helping to:
✨ Build excitement and eagerness for students to be at school.
✨ Contribute to the development of a positive, distinctive culture in a new school community.
✨ Reinforce the “village raises a child” approach — where care, safety, and support are shared.
✨ Foster friendships and positive experiences that flow into neighbourhoods, growing pride, connection, and a desire to contribute to community life.
We believe in responding to the emerging needs of children and young people — sometimes in unexpected ways. While we may not yet see the full impact these experiences will have, we know that small acts of care today help shape strong, compassionate people for tomorrow.
Proudly supported by Edmund Rice Community Services.

International Women’s Day: Balancing the Scales
Today we celebrate International Women’s Day — a moment to honour the achievements, resilience, and leadership of women everywhere. This year’s theme, “Balancing the Scales,” reminds us that true progress happens when opportunity, respect, and representation are shared equally.
Balancing the scales means recognising disparities, challenging outdated norms, and taking meaningful steps toward fairness in every space — workplaces, communities, and beyond. It’s a call to action for all of us to uplift women’s voices, champion inclusion, and ensure that equity isn’t just an aspiration but a reality.
Together, we can create a future where everyone stands on equal ground.

We’re currently recruiting for three positions in Truganina Victoria to support our Learning Support Projects.

The Learning Support projects help students from migrant and refugee backgrounds strengthen their literacy, numeracy and study skills, so they can thrive at school, build confidence and be supported by families and communities who champion their education.

Welcome Studios is a supported space for creativity while building community connections, strengthening wellbeing and sharing the love of art.

These roles will support the facilitation and coordination of the projects, helping ensure strong delivery and ongoing improvement
