A further 30 Australian Incident management specialists, including 11 from NSW, leaving Sydney International Airport this morning, on their way to assist Canada with fire fighting. They will join 50 already in Canada. 100 specialist fire fighters will also leave later this week.

Firefighters from the NSW RFS and FRNSW have done some outstanding work over the past few hours. As the fire moved quickly towards homes in Coronation Rd they stood their ground and as a result there has been no serious damage or losses to homes in the area. The NSW RFS is coordinating a request from Canada to send 100 specialist firefighters to assist with fires in British Columbia. These firefighters will leave from Sydney mid next week.
