Kai and I had a fantastic day at Daangean today! 🌿💦

We installed two woven habitat pods and two of our habitat diversity planter pods along the shoreline, creating some new habitat and adding a little more diversity to the area. 🐸🦋🌱

We then headed over to our Grassland Hydrology project area, where Kai installed another woven habitat pod in one of the old dams. This one has a great educational purpose, helping demonstrate how these habitats can support biodiversity. 🌾💚

And one day, we’d love to take it a step further and improve the water quality in the dam with some floating habitat islands and appropriate planting. 🌱💧

Another great day out doing what we love — creating habitat, improving landscapes and learning along the way! 🙌🌏💚

So good having our Ambassadors from Moorooduc Primary School helping out in the Reserve today! 🌿💚

Together, we made a start on getting some of this season’s plants planted in the trees for our future grassland project area. 🌱🌳

A huge thank you for your amazing help, really appreciate it! 💚

There are still plenty of plants to get in the ground, so if you’d like to come along tomorrow at 10am, we’d love to see you! 🌱😊

A huge shout-out to Peninsula Rotaract 🙌 for organizing and partnering with us on the Bunnings Hastings BBQ fundraiser a month or so ago! 🌭🔥

Thanks to the money we raised together, we've been able to purchase an IBC water tank, hoses, hose fittings, and a storage box for the front of our trailer. 🚛💧

With a potentially dry spring and summer ahead, having the ability to top up our plants is going to make a real difference. 🌱☀️ It's great to have a reliable backup when we need it most.

Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraiser and pitched in, we couldn't have done it without you! 💚

Our little creek is finally flowing. Very, very slowly, but it's flowing for the first time this season.

I have to say, I'm pretty excited and couldn't wait to share this!

We finally got some water on the ground, which meant we could test our leaky weirs—and they're doing exactly what they're designed to do: slowing the movement of water across the landscape to improve the hydrology.

They're still a work in progress. We can add more material, or they can also be planting in front of and behind them to further improve !

And a shout out to Melbourne water for you supporting this project.

We even got a few of the bee-man hotels down the back now, made at the workshop we had. And put on country by the Balirt Biik (Strong Country) Rangers. Once we get our planting right this is going to be just amazing

🌿 Bone Seed Busting This Weekend! 🌿

The ground conditions couldn't be better for tackling boneseed and other woody weeds! With the recent rain, the soil is soft, making it much easier (and more satisfying!) to pull out these invasive plants.

We'll also have a few native plants ready to go into the ground, so it's a great opportunity to help restore the area.

📍 Meet at: Hodgins Road - (About 1/2 way along between Derril and Stumpy Gully Rd)

🕙 Time: 10:00 am

Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear, bring a water bottle, and if you'd like, a snack to share for morning tea.

Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole morning, every helping hand makes a difference.

We'd love to see you there! 🌱
