They did a fantastic job servicing our FCV and getting us back on the road quickly, now we can keep doing what we do to help keep our community safe.

Locals supporting locals — it really makes a difference! 💙

If weather and forest conditions are suitable, firefighters from the Midlands District will ignite the Gisborne – Pyrites No 2 Track, North Blackwood – Firth Road and Lyonville – Loddon River Road planned burns from Monday 27 April.

The combined 762 hectare burns are being undertaken to reduce risk of bushfire to the townships of Gisborne, Blackwood and Lyonville, and surrounding communities.

The Gisborne burn will be ignited over 1 day, the North Blackwood will be ignited over 2 days with aerial support, and the Lyonville burn will be ignited over 3 days. FFMVic crews will continue to patrol and monitor in the days following.

There will be traffic management controllers and speed restrictions in place along the:
🚧Glenlyon-Little Hampton Road
🚧Loddon River Road
🚧Lyonville Springs Road
🚧Walsh road
🚧Campaspe Road
🚧Burnt Mill Road
🚫Anderson Mill Track will be closed

Without planned burning and other fuel management works, bushfires will be bigger and harder for our firefighters to control.

🔥You may see or smell smoke.
👀Watch for our crews and follow their directions.
📞If you experience symptoms that may be due to smoke exposure, please seek medical advice or call NURSE-ON-CALL on 1300 60 60 24.
ℹ️Detailed information about current air quality throughout Victoria can be found at www.epa.vic.gov.au

Unexpected weather conditions can mean plans change at the last minute and a burn may not go ahead, even if communities have already been notified.

When this happens, our crews will continue to monitor the conditions and re-schedule the burn for a later date.
