SYDNEY ART TOUR: Year Nine Art had an incredible day in Sydney on our Art Tour! We visited the Art Gallery of NSW to experience the amazing Archibald Prize and played and explored the immersive Tank exhibition by Mike Hewson.

After lunch at the food court, students enjoyed sketching and drawing activities around the iconic Sydney Opera House. Even with the rain, our Year Nine artists showed outstanding enthusiasm, creativity, resilience and behaviour throughout the day.

A huge congratulations to all students for representing our school so positively. We are so proud of the way you embraced every opportunity and made the most of this inspiring artistic experience!

CAREERS: Students attended the North Women in Construction event held at Gosford RSL Club recently. They heard from young women who have completed TAFE and university qualifications and are now working as tradies and construction managers, gaining valuable insights into careers in the construction industry. The girls were supported throughout the day by Ellie Walsh, a BWSC 2021 Alumni currently working as a Construction Manager Cadet with North Construction while completing her degree. Students also enjoyed meeting members of the Central Coast Mariners Women squad during the lunch break.

FUTURES ACADEMY TALENT ID SESSIONS: Our Futures Academy High Performance Athlete Program team has been out in our partner primary schools over the past few weeks delivering Talent Identification sessions!

These sessions provide a fantastic opportunity to connect with students across our community, recognise and support emerging talent, and showcase the pathways and opportunities available through the Futures Academy program at BWSC.

We’ve been incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm, skill and positive attitude shown by all students involved, with over 620 Stage 2 students taking part across the sessions! A huge thank you to our partner primary schools for having us — we’re excited to keep working alongside our local school community throughout the year!
