Advance Greater Cessnock facebook and website are managed by the Economic Development Unit at Cessnock City Council for the business community. Each fortnight we publish three business stories, keeping you up to date with relevant local and industry information, tax and legislative changes, statistics and trends, marketing ideas, and business opportunities. Advance Greater Cessnock represents a pa

rtnership between Council and the local chambers of commerce. We need to collaborate to capitalise on our advantages as a region and to realise a future economic resilience and prosperity in the Cessnock local government area. Advance Greater Cessnock leverages the combined knowledge and resources of the strategic partners to develop and implement business retention, growth, and investment programs. Advance Greater Cessnock aims to create an environment conducive to doing good business by providing support for businesses to invest, establish, expand, grow and prosper.

Calling Aboriginal-owned businesses and suppliers in the Cessnock region!

Gather and Grow is a free event happening in Cessnock tomorrow from 10am-1pm at Rydges Hunter Valley. Gather and Grow will bring together NSW Government buyers, Aboriginal businesses, non-Aboriginal businesses, support services, and prospective job seekers, all aimed at fostering the growth of Aboriginal businesses.

Attendees will learn about opportunities for Aboriginal businesses through the Aboriginal Procurement Policy. Gather and Grow events are:

• an opportunity to network
• learn about agencies’ upcoming procurement opportunities
• learn about pipelines of work
• find out about employment opportunities.

Come along to connect with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal businesses, government buyers, interested job seekers and business support services.
