Celebrating Pride Month – Sam’s Story 🌈

Pride Month is a time to celebrate identity, independence, and the journeys that make it possible to live authentically.

For Sam, 26, from North Brisbane, this means living independently, working in a pharmacy, and confidently managing everyday life—milestones achieved through ongoing support, determination and the assistance of the NDIS. 💜💚

Diagnosed as neurodivergent as a teenager, Sam faced challenges many didn’t see.
Today, their story is a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community, including the right NDIS supports needed to build capacity. 🫶

Are you from a multicultural background and living with a disability, or supporting a loved one with disability? Join us for a friendly and informative session designed to support you on your NDIS journey.

Meet our Multicultural Local Area Coordinator (LAC) and learn how to access the supports available to you.

🌿 Accessibility Awareness Tour – Yeppoon Foreshore

Join Accessibility Capricornia for a hands-on tour of the Yeppoon Foreshore to better understand the everyday barriers faced by people with disability. Experience access challenges, explore what’s working, and share ideas to improve inclusion in our community.

Open to people with lived experience and professionals in design, planning, and building—because creating accessible spaces is everyone’s business.

Last weekend we attended the Rainbow on the Reef Fair Day in Gladstone. This vibrant local event celebrated identity, diversity, and community. 🫶

It was a day full of colour, connection, and meaningful conversations. Many shared powerful reflections on inclusion and allyship, highlighting the importance of kindness, respect, and creating spaces where everyone can be their authentic selves. 🌈
