The Indigenous Justice Advocacy Group (IJAG) was established in 2017 to provide better support and services for the diverse Indigenous communities across NSW. We adopt a two fold approach in our work by firstly raising awareness about existing government funded programs and services which help to address prevalent social justice issues. We foster connections with communities and services to increa

se the reach of these great services. However funding for these services is often limited therefore we also focus on developing campaigns to advocate for increased government funding to establish more targeted programs and services tailored for specific social issues prevalent within Indigenous communities.

It's been an exciting week for us here at IJAG!

We've had the opportunity to visit the set of NITV to film a segment on our current campaign against domestic violence. The team at NITV invited IJAG staff Tegan, Shivam and Yayha to discuss the issue, what the government is doing (or not doing!) and how to get involved. A big thank you to NITV for having us!

The interview will be broadcast on Thursday next week at 5pm or it'll be available online on SBSonDemand, so tune in and check it out!

A big thank you to all of the wonderful people who attended our conference in Tamworth last weekend! The event was such an important step in encouraging people to have conversations about how we can improve the support and services for Indigenous women experiencing domestic violence. Days like this really reinforce that we are stronger when we stand together.

They offer individual case management to discuss needs, develop safety plans and link women with other local support coordinators.
