IMPORTANT ‼️‼️‼️
If you turned your smoke alarms off during the local hazard reductions PLEASE reset them and make sure that they are working.
Many households may have disabled their alarms because of the heightened presence of smoke in the valley, however, if you have forgotten to reinstall them please do so 🔥🧯🧑‍🚒

The time the RFS bring out the BBQ.
Our Annual general meeting (RFS Members) and our General meeting (open to the community) will take place on the 30th of May 2025.

If you would like to come along, bring a drink and perhaps some ideas about how the RFS can work with the community to make the valley an even better place to live 🧯🚒⛰️

UPPER COLO RFB NEEDS YOUR HELP.

It’s that time of year again… our upcoming AGM on 30 May means every brigade role will be declared vacant. It's particularly significant this year as we have some big gaps.

Before you scroll past thinking “not me”… hear us out. We’re a small brigade, and every bit of help makes a real difference. It’s about bringing what you can, when you can. There's something for everyone!

🌱 Don’t mind a bit of yard work? We need Grounds Maintenance!
🔧 Handy with tools or engines? Equipment Officer = your time to shine.
🔥 Got admin skills? Secretary, Treasurer or Training Officer could be your thing.
🚒 Know the brigade inside out? Deputy roles or Captain might be calling.
🗣️ Good with people and meetings? You could be President!
🍔 Love food? Catering Officer (this one is very important!)
💸 Good at a deal? Why not try Fundraising?
📱 Social media savvy? We'd love to have you on board for Community Engagement!
📞 Good at answering your phone? Call Out Officer has your name on it.
📏 Can eyeball a 2x2m pile like a pro? Permit Issuing Officer is basically your destiny.

The reality is:
👉 Some roles need just a little time here and there
👉 Others suit those who can contribute more regularly
👉 ALL roles help keep the brigade running

Hey Everyone.

Just another post to let you know that Hazard Reductions will continue into the weekend.
Crews will be conducting controlled burns from the 22-24th.

Signs are up around the valley, be sure to let your visitors know that the valley is still a gorgeous place to visit.
