The hugest thank you to Mahalia at Sweep & Shine for her organisation skills and making the whole day a success. 💕🚒 our volunteers put in a lot of time over the weekend to prepare and make an inviting environment for our community. We are so grateful for the many hands that made this day possible. 🙂

🌟 Exciting Night at the South Coast SES Unit! 🚒

Last night, our brigade had the fantastic opportunity to visit the South Coast SES unit. We explored their impressive appliances and learned about their capabilities.

One of the highlights was getting hands-on with the road crash equipment! It was not only a lot of fun but also incredibly informative.

We appreciate the dedication and hard work of our SES locals and working together enhances our ability to serve and protect our community. A big thank you to the South Coast SES team for their warm welcome and for sharing their expertise with us! 🙌🧡South Coast State Emergency Service

New members kicking goals! 🏈🔥

We’re super pleased to officially welcome Dani and Phoebe to the brigade after they successfully completed their Basic Firefighting course in Goolwa over the weekend. They’ll now be riding the trucks and attending incidents.

We’re also excited to have Raya on board, who brings valuable firefighting experience from National Parks.

Meanwhile, new-ish members Jesse and Bijou recently completed their Pumping Operations course on home soil – another great step forward in building their skills.

Huge effort by everyone involved. It’s fantastic to see our newer members having a crack, getting stuck in and supporting each other. ❤️💛

Today, we gathered representing the Victor group, united in remembrance and respect on Anzac Day. As we stand before the Cross of Sacrifice, we reflect on the immense sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom and values. Their bravery and willingness to give everything for the greater good serve as a powerful reminder of the costs of peace.

Each life lost, each act of valor, echoes through time, instilling in us a deep appreciation for the courage displayed by our heroes. As we honor their legacy, let us renew our commitment to uphold the values they fought for and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Training night recap 🚒🔥

Last night we worked through our annual BA (breathing apparatus) skills maintenance drills. This is mandatory training that makes sure our BA operators are sharp on the core skills needed for structure fires and other incidents. To add a bit of extra realism, we also folded in a car fire drill.

Alongside this, some of our newer members took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with wearing a BA set, building confidence and preparing for future training.

We also loved welcoming our first couple of prospective members along for a 'come-and-try'-type session. They jumped in with both feet - they took their first ride in a fire truck, learned some basic hosework and got involved in the drill in a defensive role.

A great night of people having a go at something new, backed up by experienced members supporting, mentoring and sharing their knowledge 👏🚒

🚒✨ Exciting News from Sweep & Shine! ✨🚒

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Sweep & Shine for a bi-annual community garage sale! This event will not only support our Hindmarsh Valley CFS brigade but also contribute to the wonderful work that Sweep & Shine does for our local charities.

Join us at the station for a fantastic day filled with a huge garage sale, tours of the trucks, and delicious sausage sizzle! 50% of the proceeds will directly support our brigade and the other half will help Sweep & Shine continue their amazing community efforts.
