🐴💔The City of Victor Harbor and the Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram team are saddened to confirm the passing of much-loved Clydesdale horse, Albert, following a short illness.

At 18 years of age, Albert was a valued member of the Horse Drawn Tram team for 13 years and held a special place in the hearts of staff, volunteers, drivers and visitors alike.

We will remember him for his calm confident nature, gentle temperament and unique personality. He famously disliked fishing rods and preferred not to wear winkers, so he could see everything happening around him.

Albert's contribution to the Horse Drawn Tram experience and the joy he brought to residents and visitors over many years will be fondly remembered

We ask the community to be mindful of the impact of Albert’s loss on the tramway staff and volunteers to whom Albert was a much-loved colleague and companion of many years.

🖊 Authors of the Future! 📚 One of the best nights of the year at Victor Harbor Library is the Mayor's Short Story Competition ceremony.

So wonderful to see that imagination, storytelling and a love of literacy are alive and well in our regional schools.

Congratulations not only to all the winners, but to everyone who entered. This year's competition received over a thousand entries across the three council areas. Just one example of our regional councils working together.

📚 How good is Book Week! 🧚‍♂️

Our Victor Harbor Library team have put on another stellar week, connecting young people with the magic of books and reading.

We couldn't let them have all the fun, so a whole range of Council staff dressed up to support the library's literacy message. Our fabulous Customer Service team even spent the day welcoming customers in costume.

Thank you to all who celebrated with our wonderful library team and joined in on events throughout the week.
