We hope you are ready for this afternoon, because we sure are. This is the map of our route for today. The truck will be leaving the station at 3pm sharp. Please keep an ear out for the sirens, we will do our best to keep you all up to date with our current location. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone out and about! 🚒🎄🎅

🚨 JOIN OUR TEAM | AUXILIARY FIREFIGHTERS WANTED 🚨

Are you ready to make a difference in your community?

Walkerston Fire Station is currently welcoming expressions of interest for Auxiliary Firefighter positions.

Auxiliary firefighters respond to a wide range of incidents including fires, road crashes, and other emergencies — all while maintaining their regular employment or lifestyle. It’s a rewarding role that requires commitment, professionalism, and a strong sense of teamwork.

👨‍🚒 We’re looking for people who:

✔️ Are reliable and motivated
✔️ Work well in a team environment
✔️ Are physically fit and willing to learn
✔️ Can remain calm and focused under pressure
✔️ Are community-minded and ready to contribute

Auxiliary firefighters undertake training to maintain operational readiness and are called upon to respond when needed. If you’re someone who can be depended on, takes pride in being part of a team, and wants to give back to your local area — we’d love to hear from you.

Walkerston Fire Station – ANZAC Day 2025

Each year, members from Walkerston Fire Station attend ANZAC Day ceremonies to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of our past and present Defence Force members.

While not all of our crew were able to attend this year, it remains a privilege to stand alongside our community in remembrance.

Hello Walkerston,
We hope you are ready for this afternoon, because we definitely are. This is the map of our route for today. The truck will be leaving the station at 2pm sharp. From Rural Fire Service Mackay: Local Fire Ban

Please be advised due to continued unfavorable weather conditions, a Local Fire Ban will commence from midnight Thursday 26th October through till midnight Wednesday 1st November for Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Regional Council Areas.

Cane can be burnt from 6PM -5AM only.
