INCIDENT ~ STRUCTURE FIRE

LOCATION ~ Derwent Rd, Bradfield

DETAILS ~ Our firefighters are currently working alongside several other NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW crews to extinguish a large shed fire on Derwent Road, Bradfield.

The shed, which was used as a car wrecking facility, contained vehicles and a forklift. First-arriving crews were confronted with a number of small explosions as the fire took hold.

NSW Police and NSW Ambulance are also in attendance.

PRIORITY MESSAGE

INCIDENT ~ POWER LINES DOWN

LOCATION ~ Silverdale Rd, Werombi

UPDATE ~ 4:50pm Endeavour energy has removed powerlines from the roadway and Silverdale Rd is now open in both directions

DETAILS ~ Power lines are down and are blocking the road. Our firefighters along with Silverdale Rural Fire Brigade are awaiting on Endeavour energy to remove the powerlines from the roadway.

OTHER DETAILS ~ A contraflow has been set up on the grass verge to pass, play slow down to 40km/h as you approach the scene

INCIDENT ~ MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

LOCATION ~ Greendale Rd, Greendale near Wolstenholme Av.

UPDATE ~ 8:50am, Accident scene has been cleared and both directions of Greendale Rd are now open.

DETAILS ~ Our firefighters are working with other emergency services at a multi vehicle accident.

OTHER DETAILS ~ Both directions of Greendale Rd are currently blocked. Motorist are advised to avoid the area, and use The Northern Rd as an alternative route.

This morning, our brigade held its 2026 Annual General Meeting, where we reflected on the achievements of past twelve months, and to elected the leadership and executive team for the next twelve months. It was also an opportunity to recognize the service and dedication of several members.

Please join us in congratulating Cassie, who was awarded Life Membership for her dedicated service to our brigade, with over 24 years of service that has seen her in various positions within the brigade, including brigade secretary for 16 years, Deputy Captain for 14 years, and has attended countless local and out-of-area incidents, along with organizing many community events.

Several other members were awarded the NSW Premier's Flood Emergency Citation in recognition of their efforts during the major floods across New South Wales in 2022/23.

Yesterday, some of our firefighters and Heavy Tanker attended an emergency training exercise at Western Sydney International Airport, along with numerous other emergency services who worked together to test the response to an emergency on the runway ahead of the first scheduled flights at the end of July.

Today marks the first day of winter and it’s also Smoke Alarm Action Day!

As the weather cools down and heaters, fireplaces, and electric blankets start getting more use, now is the perfect time to check your smoke alarms are working.

✅ Test your smoke alarms
✅ Replace batteries if needed
✅ Make sure every bedroom and hallway is protected
✅ Plan and practice your home fire escape plan

A working smoke alarm can provide the early warning needed to save lives. Stay warm, stay safe, and make fire safety a priority this winter.

INCIDENT ~ MISSING PERSON SEARCH

LOCATION ~ LUDDENHAM AREA.

UPDATE ~ Sadly the body of the man missing has been located. NSW Police will be preparing a report for the coroner.

DETAILS ~ Our firefighters are currently assisting NSW Police Force with the a coordinated search involving Rescue & Bomb Disposal - NSW Police Force, NSW Rural Fire Service - Cumberland/Macarthur District and NSW SES for Jamie aged 48 who has been missing since Thursday 28th May. OTHER DETAILS ~ Any residents with property in the area between The Northern Rd and Luddenham Rd, please take the time to check your property and any look at any CCTV footage that may have captured Jamie walking past.
