Thank you to our wonderful volunteers.

A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C volunteers!

We would like to say a very special thank you to Virginia Smith, Nicola Ray, Amy Tang, Megan Hamilton, Jay Cameron and Brooke Taylor for generously volunteering their time today to run our P&C Father’s Day Stall.

Thanks to their time and effort, all of our students had the opportunity to choose and purchase a special gift for a dad, grandfather, carer or another important male in their life.

We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated Wallerawang/Lidsdale P&C, who continue to provide our students and school community with thoughtful and meaningful opportunities like this.

Thank you for everything you do to make these special moments possible!

Happy Father’s Day for Sunday to all the wonderful dads and special men in our students’ lives! 💙

Assembly - Term 3, Week 7 🎉📚
Today at assembly, we celebrated the wonderful academic achievements of students across our school and recognised outstanding school citizenship through our Citizenship Awards. 🏅👏
Congratulations to all the students who received Honour Awards, as well as those who have earned their special Bronze and Silver Awards. Your hard work, effort, and positive contributions are something to be proud of! 🌟👍
A huge congratulations to Zeus, who was awarded a Regional Spelling Bee Finalist Certificate! 🐝📖 What an outstanding achievement!
We also took the opportunity to celebrate our amazing SASS staff by reading a thoughtful poem that highlighted all the incredible things they do every day to support our school community. 💙🤗
1/2 Lime amazed the audience with their engaging and informative report about weather. ☀️🌧️🌬️ The students shared interesting facts and explained how we measure weather using tools like thermometers and rain gauges. 🌡️🌂What a fantastic way to bring science to life and demonstrate their knowledge and teamwork! 👏🎨🧑‍🤝‍🧑
Congratulations to all of our students on their achievements. We are incredibly proud of you! 🎓🎉

Book Week Celebrations 2026

📚🎉 What a Book Week it has been! 🎉📚

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful students and staff for getting involved in our 2026 Book Week – Symphony of Stories! 🎶📖

From fantastic costumes and creative characters to our Book Fair, there has been so much excitement and enthusiasm for books and reading across our school. It has been wonderful to see students sharing their favourite stories, discovering new books and celebrating the joy of reading together. 💛

A very special thank you to our staff for helping make Book Week such a success, and to our students for embracing the fun and showing such enthusiasm throughout the day. We also extend a huge thank you to our families for supporting the Book Fair and encouraging a love of reading at home. 📚

💰 Book Fair Success!
We are thrilled to announce that our Book Fair raised a fantastic $400 for our school library! The total sales for the day were approximately $4,000.

This money will go directly towards purchasing new books and resources for our library, helping us continue to build an exciting and engaging collection for our students to enjoy. 📚✨

Thank you, Wallerawang Public School, for helping make Book Week 2026 such a wonderful celebration of stories, reading and imagination!

🎶 Every story has a beat, and together we made Book Week sing! 🎶

5/6 Gold Term 3 Update
It has been another busy and exciting term! We are reading a fantastic book about friendship called August and Jones by Pip Harry. We have learned about characterisation, and applied our understanding of the main characters by writing postcards and letters to Australian Paralympians.
In maths, we have explored Cartesian planes, probability, 3D objects and volume. This week, we began learning about angles, including how to measure them using a protractor.
Science is probably the subject we look forward to the most. We are learning about electricity, and have created circuits using alligator clips, light bulbs, and batteries. We have investigated conductors and insulators, and are now learning to create code so our micro:bit can identify whether a material is a conductor or insulator.
We look forward to sharing our knowledge with you at the end of the term!
From Miss Black and Ms Bradford

Literacy and Numeracy Week – Daily Selfie Challenge

As part of our celebrations for Literacy and Numeracy week we invite our school community to take part in a daily selfie challenge.

Each challenge encourages you to discover the literacy and numeracy that surrounds us every day while having fun and getting creative.

Tuesday 1 September – Number hunt

Take a selfie that includes as many different numbers as you can find, and add your photo to the comments below using the hashtag

We can't wait to see the creative ways schools across NSW bring literacy and numeracy to life!

Mrs Fraser will have some prizes for the students who have the best selfie for each challenge 😀
