Jacob and Tom are sorting their outfits for Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day).

WOW Day is the national day of recognition to say ‘thank you’ to SES volunteers.

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake and landslide throughout Victoria, and provide the largest Road Crash Rescue network in Australia, with specialist teams in 104 of our 154 units across the state.

CFA work alongside SES at car accidents, rescues, searches, floods and storms. They have assisted us with lighting at housefires.

Wandong Fire Brigade is grateful for the SES Volunteers for all the hours they put in to support our community.

One of our talented Wandong Fire Brigade firefighters Kasey created this artwork 🎨 following the Longwood fires in January 2026.

She kindly donated it to be auctioned at the Wandong CFA Trivia Night last night.

Bidding was competitive, with a member from the Southern Cross Gold table the final winner, with a bid of $800.

Another great example of the diverse talents that Wandong Fire Brigade members have. Thanks Kasey. 😊

What a brilliant night last night at the Wandong CFA Trivia Night. We were treated to an awesome performance by Tom and Jacob, with support from Kasey and Sarah.

In addition to trivia, there was a display of Wandong Fire Brigade memorabilia, an auction of a painting of a scene during the Longwood fires by one of our members, performances by the participants, and drawing of the raffle.

The vibe was brilliant, with a full house of locals and visitors, plus members from SES Kilmore Unit and Clonbinane CFA. The vibe extended after the event with so many people helping to stack chairs and tables, and even lending a hand to vacuum the floor.

The trivia winning table was Table 10 "Twin Peakes", followed closely by Table 12 "Golden Girls", and then Table 5 "The Captains".
