One simple change can make old toys feel new again. 💡
Instead of having every toy available all the time, try rotating them.

Putting some toys away for a few weeks and bringing them back later can:
✔️ Keep play fresh
✔️ Encourage creativity
✔️ Help children focus
✔️ Reduce overwhelm
✔️ Support changing interests

As Dr Kate Renshaw explains in our new Play at Home resource, toy libraries make toy rotation easy by giving families access to a wide variety of toys without needing to constantly buy more.

We're open for borrowing tomorrow, with plenty of ride-ons, outdoor toys and backyard favourites ready for this beautiful sunny weather ☀️

While you're there, don't forget our Annual General Meeting is this Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. We'd love to see you there as we reflect on the year that was, celebrate our achievements, and share what's ahead for the Toy Library.

We're getting ready for our AGM on August 30 and we'd love to hear your ideas.

Whether you can lend a hand occasionally or spare a few hours each week, we'd love to hear from you.

We're currently seeking support with:
💰 Grant writing
🧸 Toy maintenance and repairs
💻 Website updates
🧵 Sewing storage bags for toys
🏷️ Cataloguing new toys
🎉 Events and fundraising

Do you have a skill we haven't mentioned? There's a good chance we can put it to good use.

We're also looking for people interested in committee roles, including:
📋 Secretary
💼 President
💰 Treasurer

We'd also love some new general committee members. It mostly involves dinner once a month, chatting about the Toy Library and making a few decisions before dessert arrives.

A little help goes a long way in keeping the Toy Library thriving for local families into the future.

What a beautiful sunny morning to welcome Cr Dave Fuller and Cr Allison Winters - Rural City of Wangaratta to the Toy Library.

It was wonderful to show them what the Toy Library is all about, share what makes it such a special part of our community, and hear their ideas for how we can reach even more local families.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to have these conversations and explore new ways to connect with parts of our community who may not yet know about the Toy Library.

We loved having the chance to share our vision and look forward to continuing the conversation about how we can make the Toy Library even more accessible to local families.
