Hello everyone. Just letting you know that the Waroona office is temporarily closed until the new Administrator comes on board. Hopefully not too long. Scheduled First Aid classes will continue in the training room as normal. Please call regional office on 08 9791 4999 for any help you may need. This closure does not impact ambulance services. If you have an emergency, dial 000 immediately.

Temporary Admin Office Closure

Waroona St John Subcentre administration office is now closed temporarily until reopening on Tuesday May 12th 2026 at 8.30 am.

First Aid training will still continue in the training room as normal.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

If it’s an emergency please call Triple zero (000).

Or visit St John Subcentre in Harvey.

⚠️ CYCLONE PREP TIME – CARNARVON TO PERTH ⚠️
Righto… this isn’t the time to sit there watching model runs like it’s Netflix.

If you’re anywhere between Carnarvon and Perth, now’s the time to get your act together. Not panic… just don’t be the bloke chasing his trampoline down the street at 2am.

This Cyclone Prep Guide is more aimed at Pilbara Cyclones but it gives people a rough idea of what to prepare for.

🧠 HAVE A PLAN (Yes… an actual plan, not “she’ll be right”)
Cyclones don’t exactly send you a calendar invite. They can ramp up fast, so know:
• Where you’ll shelter
• If/when you’ll leave
• How you’ll contact family

If your house won’t handle it… leave early. Last-minute heroics don’t end well.

🧰 PACK AN EMERGENCY KIT (aka survive without Uber Eats)
You’ll want:
• Water + non-perishable food
• Torch + batteries
• Radio
• First aid kit
• Cash + meds

Basically, enough gear to survive a few days if everything goes pear-shaped.

🏡 SORT YOUR PROPERTY (before it becomes airborne)
Do it now, not when it’s blowing 100km/h:
• Tie down or bring in loose items (furniture, trampolines, bins)
• Clear gutters and drains
• Trim dodgy branches
• Get sandbags ready if flooding’s a risk

Because yes… that random chair WILL try to become a missile.

🚗 FUEL UP & STAY CONNECTED
• Fill the car ( if you can afford it 😕 )
• Charge your phone (and everything else you pretend you don’t rely on)
• Keep an eye on official updates

Cyclones bring:
• Destructive winds
• Heavy rain & flooding
• Storm surge near the coast

And they can track further south than you think… yes, even towards Perth.
