🚨 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗦, 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥!
For more than two years, Hopetoun has been without childcare. Now, after significant water damage forced the closure of the Early Years Centre, local kindergarten children have been moved to a temporary location, and families face the prospect of waiting up to another two years for a permanent solution.
❌ Kindergarten has been relocated to the Senior Citizens Building.
❌ There is still no childcare service available.
❌ Senior Citizens are displaced.
This is not good enough for our children, families, educators or community. Parents are being left without childcare options, workforce participation is impacted, and young families are being forced to consider opportunities elsewhere.
Yarriambiack Shire Council is calling on the Victorian Government to urgently commit to a new integrated early years facility for Hopetoun.
