A very happy 80th birthday to a special lady Jean H***e, who started up the Warragul stroke support group and made many friends along the way. We wish her a very happy birthday from everyone who has been associated with the Warragul stroke support group.😘🎂🎁🥳

We all had such a great lunch at the Warragul country club last Tuesday for our last meeting of the Warragul stroke support group. I will contact everyone next year about catching up for a coffee either late January or early February. I’d also like to thank Jean for the beautiful flowers she presented me with at our lunch. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.🎄🧑‍🎄

We had our meeting today with 10 members and their careers attending.
Jean and David were apologies.
We had Jane Porch from Catholic Care counselling services give a talk about her work at the community house. She has done some very interesting work over the years as a social worker.
We talked about our bus trip to Cranbourne botanical Gardens and have started making a list of who’s coming and who’s not . We will leave from the community house at 10 am and return at 2 pm to the community house.
We have a stand at the Warragul market from 8:30 to 1 o’clock to give out our brochures and promote the stroke group in Warragul. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We all wish Chris a speedy recovery and hope he gets to leave hospital soon.
We chatted mainly about “my aged care” today while we had a cuppa .
Next meeting in two weeks we have Avalon doing chair based yoga.

We had our Stroke group meeting today with nine members and carers attending. We did chair based yoga with Avalon and I’m quite sure we’re all more relaxed now.
We all wish Chris the best in his recovery after his major operation ,we know it’s going to be a long ride back, but we are looking forward to seeing him at the meetings again .
At our next meeting on 2nd September, we have Jane Porch from the catholic care group as a guest speaker. The first meeting in October will be a bus trip to the Cranbourne botanical Gardens, so put that in your calendar now.
We have a stand at the Warragul market on September 20th to give out brochures and promote our group so if you have a spare hour or so, please let Kerry or myself know as at this stage it’s just Kerry and I helping out. The market will be on from 8.:30am till 1:30 but if we don’t get any help we’ll just be there for a few hours and just hope that it’s not a very wet and cold day like last time.
We have pencilled in 9th December as our Christmas break up lunch at the Warragul country club.

We had our meeting today with 10 people attending and 2 apologies .We wish Chris all the best for his recovery after his big operation. Some dates to remember,
September 20th where we will be down at the Warragul market between 830 and 1 pm promoting the Warragul stroke group and giving out the bags with our information in them that we made up a few weeks back.
October 7th we will have a bus trip to Cranbourne botanical Gardens having lunch there as well. The bus will be provided through a grant from the Warragul country club.
Our next meeting we will have Avalon doing chair based yoga .
September 2nd we will have Jane Porch who is a counsellor from the catholic care group giving a talk.

Thank you to everyone at our meeting today who helped make up our new little brochure holders including a pen. Many hands make light work.😄

The Warragul Stroke support group have had a generous donation from “Baw Baw Podiatry” 32 Albert Street Warragul, so please support this business if you can.

Had our meeting last Tuesday and we had 12 members and their carers attending. We had Chris and Alan from Warragul Ranges Probus Club giving us a talk about what goes on at Probus and how it all started.
 We have a $700 grant from the Warragul country club which has to be used on a bus trip ,so we talked about places that we could visit and will probably go in September this year. Chris is chasing up quotes from local printers to get more brochures made up and some cardboard holders with our details on them as the stroke bags were too dear for us to buy any more.
We wish Mick Olsen a happy birthday today. 
Our next meeting will be on 15th April and we will have Avalon take us for chair based yoga and relaxation.

We had our meeting today with 7 members attending and apologies from Jean and David, Margie and Howard and Lorraine.
We had the lovely Avalon take us for chair based yoga and I think we all got so relaxed ,Mick even fell asleep 🤣
We’d like to thank Martin who has given us another donation for the sale of the pens that he’s making and thank you to Desi who donated $10 last meeting.
We received a $700 grant from the Warragul country club, which will come in handy.
Chris looked into getting quotes for stroke bags but the prices were outrageous, so he looked into getting coloured sheets of thick paper with printing on them and using them folded to hold our brochures .
Each meeting we will be charged $4 , $3 of which will go to the community house and one dollar to the stroke group .
Chris has organised guest speakers for April and May .

For our meeting next Tuesday, 18th March we will have chair based yoga and once a month after that. Hope to see you all there.😄
