You might know Brad Hadfield from our Pre-Owned Sales Department, but outside the dealership, Brad is also a proud CFA volunteer.

On 12 September, Brad and some of the Warragul Fire Brigade crew will take on the Annual Firefighter Stair Climb, climbing 28 floors while carrying 25kg of gear, all in an effort to raise $1 million to help fight cancer, depression and su***de.

And we want to help Brad and the CFA crew reach their goal. ❤️🚒

This afternoon at 2pm AEST there will be a test of AusAlert, a system designed to notify you of emergencies. This technology has been used in Europe and the USA for over a decade.

You don’t need to do anything. It's just a test.

In an actual disaster, an AusAlert notification will give you information about the type of emergency and what to do.

The Australian Government is launching AusAlert, a new national warning system which can send emergency messages to compatible mobile phones.

At 2:00 PM on Monday 27th July, your mobile devices, including phones, tablets, and smart watches, may receive a test alert. The notification will vibrate and include a loud siren-like sound which lasts about 10 seconds.

FATAL CRASH - PRINCES FWY CLOSED AT DARNUM

Eastbound lanes of the Princes Fwy are closed between Darnum and Yarragon.

A man died after the fuel tanker he was driving crashed in Darnum this morning.

Investigators have been told the B-double truck carrying fuel was travelling east along the Princes Freeway when it crashed into cable fencing just before 6.30am.

The driver cabin disconnected from the two trailers before crashing into trees. The driver, who is believed to be the sole occupant, died at the scene.

Road closures and detours are expected to remain in place for some time while emergency services attend to the large fuel spill.

V/Line services between Warragul and Traralgon are suspended.
Coaches are replacing trains between Warragul and Traralgon.
Some services between Traralgon and Southern Cross will not run today.

Motorists are advised of lengthy detours in place.
Drivers should leave the freeway at Warragul and take detours north or south of the freeway.

All drivers should obey the direction of emergency services and any traffic management and merge early.

With the cold, wet weather this week, our Junior brigade (and a couple of seniors) practised their skills indoors - with some fine motor skill games while wearing gloves.

Warragul Fire Brigade would like to take this National Volunteer Week to thank not only our members, but all those of the brigades nearby. All your local brigades are 100% volunteer and as you rely on us in times of need, brigades also support each other.

National Volunteer Week runs May 18th - 24th, and this year's theme is "Your Year to Volunteer".
