Brophy Foster Care Brophy's Foster Care program offers care, support and stability for children and young adults who can no longer live at home.

Brophy Family and Youth Services aims to strengthen the capacity of youth, enrich the lives of individuals and families, and build connections in communities throughout South West Victoria. Employing over 100 staff with as many volunteers, Brophy provides services in and around Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton and Camperdown.

The Brophy Foster Care program offers a safe place on a temporary or long term basis for children and young people who need to live away from their families. Volunteer Foster Carers have a child, ranging from new born to 18 years, live with them in their family home for as long as needed, providing a supportive environment for the foster child. Volunteers are then reimbursed for their out of pocket expenses. Foster Carers come from all different backgrounds and families and can be single, retired, families, culturally diverse or same sex attracted.

Brophy foster families have access to 24 hour on-call support and ongoing training and support throughout the whole process. Your foster family will be unique and special. And be everything to the child or children you welcome into it.

Our Story

My Foster Family, how does that sound? My Foster Family is your home, whatever that looks like, with everyone that lives in it, whoever is a part of your life, no matter how big or small, this is your foster family. You can be so incredibly proud of being able to create your foster family. At the centre of your foster family is the bond you’ll all create with a child, who through no fault of their own, need you all.

Foster families can be for a short time or a longer time. Foster families come in all shapes and sizes, made up by all the different demographics you can think of. Your foster family is your own special family which only you can create together. Brophy will be with you every step of the way, you are part of our family.

The number of babies, children and teens in our foster family are growing, our family is expanding, and we welcome you to join us in giving these kids a foster family they can rely on while their parents workout what’s next and get the support they need to be a family again in the future.
