SWSLHD Aboriginal Workforce This is the official page for SWSLHD Aboriginal Workforce. Our role is to attract, recruit and retain Aboriginal employees into SWSLHD.

The role of the SWSLHD Aboriginal Workforce Team is to attract, recruit and retain Aboriginal employees into SWSLHD. Our strategies include targeted and identified recruitment, coordinating a number of traineeships, cadetships and education programs, as well as mentoring, supporting and developing our existing employees to up-skill and assist them with career advancement. SWSLHD spans three tradit

ional Aboriginal boundaries including Gandangara, Tharawal and Daruk (Dharug) and seven Local Government Areas from Bankstown to Wingecarribee. SWSLHD manages 6 acute public hospitals: Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, Bowral & District Hospital, Camden Hospital & Campbelltown Hospital, Fairfield Hospital and Liverpool Hospital and also operates 14 major community health centres. Oral Health, Drug Health and Mental Health services are provided at a number of facilities across the District.

SWSLHD are proud to launch a new work experience program delivered in partnership with TAFE NSW: Strong Mob; Health & Community Services work experience program.

Applications are now open.

This program is designed for Aboriginal high school students to inspire and support future pathways into health careers. Students will gain insight into a range of health professions and hear directly from staff about their career journeys and pathways into the sector.

The minimum age for the program is 15. If you have any young people that might be interested, we encourage you to share this opportunity with them.
