🚨 2027 SMOKE ALARM LAW IS COMING- DON’T GET CAUGHT OUT! 🚨

📅 From 1 January 2027, new smoke alarm legislation means every home must be compliant, not just rentals!

Under the updated Queensland smoke alarm laws:

🔥All residential properties must have photoelectric smoke alarms (no ionisation alarms allowed) that comply with AS3786-2014.
🔥Alarms must be interconnected so that when one detects smoke, they all sound.
🔥Installed in every bedroom, hallways connecting bedrooms and on every level.
🔥Can be hardwired or wireless (10-year battery).
📍This final stage applies to all owner-occupied homes by 1 Jan 2027.

❗Non-compliance can lead to penalties- and it’s dangerous for your family too.

📢 Important Reminder for 2027 Smoke Alarm Laws in Queensland:
From 1 January 2027, all homes in Queensland must have compliant, interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms installed. This means:
✅ Smoke alarms must be photoelectric and meet Australian Standard AS 3786-2014
✅ All alarms must be interconnected — so if one activates, they all sound together
✅ They must be installed in the right locations — every bedroom, hallways connecting bedrooms, and on every level of the home
✅ They must be working and less than 10 years old
This applies to ALL private homes, townhouses and units across Queensland — giving you and your family the best early warning in case of fire.
