Warwick Bushland is a riot of colour at the moment, from the bright yellows of the hibbertia and prickly acacia, mixed with splashes of hardenbergia purple and lilac native violets, through orange/maroon of the pea flowers and on to pinks of the Swan River myrtle. The red running postman is also making a show. The whole bushland is just stunning. Come out and walk our paved trails and enjoy nature at its best. The bobtails are enjoying the sunshine and you may see a couple of those too.

The last of these photos has a Carnaby’s cockatoo feasting on a banksia cone. Can you find it?

A beautiful day today in our bushland. A large group of around 50 people joined in our Fungi Walk with ecologists Dr Mark Brundrett and Karen Clarke. Splitting into 2 groups, a wide variety of fungi were seen and discussed. A good year for fungi this year, it seems. Thank you to Mark and Karen for the presentations at the start and for leading the groups. Light refreshments were served afterwards. Thank you to Nicola, Pippa, Susan and Jenni for the lovely eats. Well done, team.

Also, did you know the Great Aussie Fungi Hunt is on during all of July? Grab your phone, camera, mirror and get out there to help gather pictures and locations for the fungi you come across. Help the scientists map what you find. Fungi are so important in our world and often underestimated.
