Wedderburn College Wedderburn College is a Foundation to Year 12 School located in the North Central district of Victoria in the township of Wedderburn.

Educating students for the 21st century is the focus of the College with the provision of state of the art information technology facilities and teaching and learning programs. The College p

The College operates within the North Central Cluster of schools which enables the provision of expansive technological, agricultural and current certificates for wide range of 21st century skills and knowledge. Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) is a key component of the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), providing students with the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings while developing valuable industry skills.

Wedderburn College student Jordan Ball recently completed his SWL placement at Wedderburn Community House, where he gained hands-on experience in facility maintenance. During his placement, Jordan contributed to the design and construction of a chook enclosure, assisted with transporting goods to the Peppercorn Op Shop, and developed important skills in communication and teamwork.

This partnership between Wedderburn College and Wedderburn Community House highlights the strength of community collaboration and the importance of creating meaningful learning opportunities for young people. We sincerely thank the team at Wedderburn Community House for their ongoing support and for providing such a valuable and supportive workplace experience for Jordan.

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) plays a vital role in the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), giving students the opportunity to apply their classroom learning in real-world settings while developing valuable industry skills.
Wedderburn College student Emily Caruana is currently undertaking her SWL placement at Boort Vet Services, where she is gaining hands-on experience in the animal care industry. During her placement, Emily has been observing consultations, assisting with preparing patients for surgery, maintaining clinic hygiene, and supporting basic animal care tasks such as handling and feeding.
This partnership between Wedderburn College and Boort Vet Services highlights the strength of community collaboration and the importance of creating meaningful learning opportunities for young people. We sincerely thank the team at Boort Vet Services for their ongoing support and for providing such a valuable experience for Emily as she explores her vocational pathway.

Thank you to Alan Mulraney and Wedderburn Historical Records for giving Wedderburn College Grade 3 and 4 students a wonderful introduction to how historic records are preserved for future generations and for showing them how to begin researching their family history. Alan’s clear explanation of how volunteering to learn and share these skills can strengthen job applications was especially valuable and inspiring.
