Today, in celebration of starting a new English unit, 1/2B made their very own dragon eggs! Next week we will be exploring the book Tashi, filled with amazing adventures and of course, dragons! The students used their creativity to shape, paint & decorate their eggs. We can’t wait for when they hatch... keep your eye out for updates!

Our high school students were excited to welcome talented artist Claudia Moodoonuthi from PCYC to their class yesterday. Claudia shared her journey as a sculptor and painter, along with the inspirations behind her work. We then began a collaborative artwork which we are excited to be able to share with you as we work on it with Claudia and other artists from our community. Thank you, Claudia, for a fantastic first session. Our deadly young artists in Years 7-10 are looking forward to building their skills, learning more about careers in the arts, and strengthening our partnership with PCYC.

Over the past five weeks, we have had four of our Year 5 and 6 students completing an extension program through the Queensland Virtual Academies. The course encouraged students to extend their Maths skills to create a Mini-Golf computer game and was a great chance for them to engage in some online-learning!

We’ve had another big day today, which started with the high ropes course! While we were all pretty tired after overcoming our fears and encouraging each other to climb higher, we still had a great time doing a map-reading challenge around camp. We are now relaxing for our final night, watching a movie!

We spotted some crocs, played bird life bingo, but unfortunately only caught one mud crab. After lunch, we went for a quick explore in the mangroves and finished the day with a high ropes briefing, ready to tackle the ropes course tomorrow!
