Parents of Year 2 IB students are also invited to the Extended Essay presentations at 1:25pm.

Today our Year 8's had the opportunity to speak with current Year 9's about electives running in 2027 at our Year 9 Elective Showcase. This was a great experience and gave students the knowledge to go away and make their choices. Elective preferences are due by Monday 7th September.

This week saw the end of an 8-week program facilitated by Melbourne Victory with a selection of year 9 and 10 students ⚽

The sessions were designed to build soccer skills, but more importantly, for our students to develop skills such as resilience, team building, responsibility and inclusion.

The sessions were well attended and culminated with a combined girls vs boys' session. Coach John from MVFC had many positive and encouraging things to report about our students, and our students have had lots of positive feedback about the program too!

💃 A big congratulations our WSC dance team who competed in the High School Dance Competition in Williamstown on Saturday. The 2026 HSDC theme was 'Bollywood freestyle dance'. The team put on a vibrant and energetic display, which saw them awarded Best Dedicated Team / Sprit of HSDC! 🏆

What a wonderful day of colour, connection and kindness as our school community came together to celebrate Wear It Purple Day on Friday 💜 📸

Our students and staff proudly wore splashes purple, and participated in lunchtime activities, to show support for LGBTQIA+ young people and remind everyone that they belong, they are valued, and they deserve to feel safe and accepted for who they are. 🌈💜Thanks to everyone who got involved and helped make the day such a positive celebration of inclusion, respect and pride!

🏓 Last weekend, WSC year 8 student Samyukt competed in the Table Tennis Australia Tour at South Pine Stadium in Queensland, and what a tournament it was!

Samyukt won every match on his way to the final, including an impressive 3–0 victory in the semis. He then faced a tough opponent in the final, narrowly losing the 4th set at 14-16, but overall finishing the tournament with a fantastic silver medal!! 🥈

Congratulations, Samyukt! Your hard work, determination and dedication are truly paying off. 👏 We wish you the very best of luck as you now continue your journey towards the Table Tennis Australia Nationals in September. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way! 🏓💪

Get Psych’d starts tomorrow!

The Get Psych’d workshops are designed to explore ways that help Young People look after themselves and their mental wellbeing. The Get Psych’d program is designed to develop self-awareness by identifying individual values and strengths, understanding emotions, emotional triggers, developing individual coping strategies and implementing wellness plans.

The Get Psych’d program sessions consist of:
• S1: Identifying Strengths & Values, and Building Self Esteem
• S2: Understanding and Regulating Emotions
• S3: Relationships and Communication
• S4: Wellness Planning

The sessions run over 4 weeks: Wednesday’s 4.30 – 6.30pm

Dates: 26 August, 2 September, 9 September, 16 September
