Hey neighbours!
What a chilly, windy start to winter!
The weather bought a busy season opener to our crew with 10 requests for assistance in 24hrs.
Trees down on roads, on driveways blocking access, on a house and onto a car parked in a driveway.
Our team attended to these trees from early morning to late at night and are now back to work at their paid jobs ready to go again at a moments notice.
Great work guys & gals.

Hey Neighbours!

Today, Upper Yarra SES celebrated Wear Orange Wednesday by hosting story time for some local tiny humans

We had books, videos, playdough, colouring activities, truck tours and plenty of snacks to keep everyone entertained!

A huge thank you to all the families and littlies who came along and to our legendary organisers who made the day such a success.

We love sharing a little of what SES is all about with the next generation 🚨🧡

🧡 Honouring Our Fellow Volunteers 🧡

This evening, we pause to acknowledge the tragic loss of dedicated volunteers from the Marine Rescue NSW who lost their lives while serving their community.

These individuals gave their time, their skill, and ultimately everything, in the service of others. Their commitment reflects the very best of what it means to volunteer - showing up when it matters most, often in the toughest conditions.

From all of us at Upper Yarra SES, we extend our deepest condolences to their families, friends, and fellow crew members. We also stand with the wider emergency services community as we feel this loss together.

Their dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Stay safe out there. 🧡

We are on the lookout for a Roadcrash Rescue training vehicle - preferably a bus of some variety 🚌🚎

If anyone has a suitable vehicle that they would be willing to donate - we would love to accept and are happy to arrange collection

A statement from Ambulance Victoria CEO Jordan Emery

I am sickened by the serious and deeply distressing occupational violence incident involving one of our paramedics in Melbourne today.

This morning, one of our MICA paramedics was stabbed while in uniform on duty.

He is stable and in hospital, receiving full medical care as well as support from Ambulance Victoria and the Victorian Ambulance Union.

I want to acknowledge his Ambulance Victoria colleagues who came to his aid, and our colleagues from Victoria Police and the member of the public who intervened.

I have visited him this afternoon and he’s in good spirits while receiving treatment, and we will continue to support him and his family throughout his recovery. Our priority is, and will continue to be, his care, safety and wellbeing.

I want to say this clearly and unequivocally that no paramedic or first responder should ever come to work and be assaulted. I am sickened to my stomach. We’ve had enough. This is appalling and unacceptable and needs to stop.

We will continue to support our paramedic, his family, our colleagues and our partners at Triple Zero Victoria and Victoria Police.

Hey neighbours!
This afternoon our team assisted Ambulance Victoria with a retrieval of an injured rider on Runaway Bride Track.
Our members rendezvoused with AV at Upper Yarra SES and set up a staging area at Edwardstown Junction. After arriving at the closest access track, our crew walked in approximately 1 km, assessed the patient with paramedics and loaded them onto the mule and commenced a 1.6km walk out to the waiting ambulance.
Thanks to Warburton Bike Park staff for their assistance.
We wish the rider a speedy recovery.
