A free influenza vaccine is available for people aged 65+ to help reduce the risk of serious illness.

🎨🎭 The Kids Access All Areas Vouchers program is back!

The Kids Access All Areas Vouchers program is back, giving eligible kids aged 5-15 access to arts and cultural experiences across WA.

To give more WA families the opportunity to participate, vouchers in this round are available to families who did not receive a voucher in round one.

🎟️ Claiming your rebate is easy in three steps:
1️⃣ Reserve a voucher through the ServiceWA app
2️⃣ Purchase tickets to an eligible arts or cultural event
3️⃣ Upload your tax invoice in the app to claim your rebate

⏰ Vouchers are available until fully reserved, and families have until 31 May 2027 to redeem them.

Bussing about Broome is now even easier with more buses to key destinations

TransBroome changes include:
🕒 Route 890 running every 30 minutes during peak tourist season
🚏new bus stops
🚌 four additional busses rolling around town
💳more payment options including SmartRider and contactless payment. this gives everyone access the $2.80 with Autoload Go Anywhere Fare and free travel on Sundays.

Bus services will soon expand to Broome North, Roebuck Estate, Old Broome and Cable Beach, and the airport 🙌

Newborns in Western Australia are now able to be screened for sickle cell disease through the free newborn bloodspot screening program.

Sickle cell disease is an inherited genetic blood disorder that causes red blood cells to become sickle-shaped, reducing blood flow and oxygen delivery around the body.

This can cause severe pain and serious complications including stroke, infection, heart disease. and lung disease.

Early detection helps babies with the condition access specialist care and treatment sooner, reducing the risk of serious complications and supporting better lifelong health outcomes.

Nature is about to take flight at Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park) with Moortabiny – the park’s very first drone show! 🌟

Moortabiny, which means Becoming Family, is part of the Everlasting Kings Park Festival and the WA Botanic Garden’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

✨ Hundreds of lights will soar across the night sky, accompanied by an immersive soundscape and sonic stations sharing stories of significant trees and native species, all within the beautiful WA Botanic Garden.

This immersive celebration of Country, connection and nature will light up Kaarta Koomba from 2–4 October.

💙 More mental health support for children and young people in the South West.

A new Acute Care Response Team (ACRT) is now supporting children and young people experiencing a mental health crisis, right in their local community.

The team provides rapid, flexible support for young people up to 18 years old, as well as their families and carers.

It can also provide extra support for young people living with ongoing mental health conditions who may need more frequent support.

Working alongside local health and community services, the ACRT helps connect young people and their families with the right support, when they need it.

🐝 We'll bee right with you South Australia!

More than 7,500 Western Australian beehives have been trucked to South Australia to help the State's almond industry.

WA's strong biosecurity measures have protected WA bees from pests and diseases, including varroa mite which has left South Australia's almond industry vulnerable.

The hives are scheduled to arrive in SA just before the almond trees flower, when demand for bee pollination services is at its peak. 🌸

You could say WA biosecurity efforts are the bee's knees. 😉🐝
