As part of National Safe Work Month, Western Australian workers and employers are encouraged to use the ABN Coverage Checker.

This Checker helps users to quickly find out whether an ABN is covered by a current workers compensation insurance policy reported to WorkCover WA.

You can easily find the tool through the Discovery screen in ServiceWA app, helping workers and businesses make informed decisions when working.

The Bicentenary in 2029 will mark 200 years since the establishment of the Swan River Colony. While this is a significant milestone in Western Australiaโ€™s history, it is not the beginning of our story.

Have an idea for how this occasion could be recognised and commemorated?

Whether through arts and culture, education, community events, environmental initiatives, history and heritage projects, reconciliation, or something entirely different, we want to hear your ideas.

๐Ÿ’™ Specialist mental health care is becoming more accessible for children and young people living in country WA.

A new virtual service, WISH, is bringing together a dedicated team of specialist practitioners to provide advice, care and interventions to support children, young people and their families.

The multidisciplinary team includes Aboriginal Mental Health Workers and Lived Experience (Peer) Workers, with expertise in areas including complex trauma and attachment, Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing, infant mental health, eating disorders, family therapy and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Itโ€™s another step towards making sure children and families across WA can get the specialist support they need, closer to home.

WAโ€™s first childrenโ€™s hospice, Sandcastles (Boodja Mia), is now complete and will soon open doors to its first families....

A peaceful, welcoming space for children who need respite and palliative care, and for families to spend precious time together and make lasting memories.

With 24/7 specialist care, respite accommodation and family support, Sandcastles will provide a home away from home for children and families across WA.

Because every child deserves compassionate care, and every family deserves support through lifeโ€™s most difficult moments.

๐Ÿ“ข Have your say to help shape the WA Play Strategy!

The WA Government wants to hear about your thoughts on what supports childrenโ€™s play, what gets in the way, and what would help create more opportunities for children to play across WA through an online survey.

The survey is open to everyone. Whether youโ€™re a parent, family or community member, educator or someone who works in a role that supports, influences or shapes childrenโ€™s opportunities to play, your insight is valuable.

With the support of a trusted adult helping them, children up to eight years of age are especially encouraged to share what play means to them.

The survey is open until 11 November 2026.

Geraldton Health Campus has expanded, with new and upgraded facilities to support the Midwest.

๐Ÿฅ The expanded Emergency Department opened in August.

๐Ÿง  Integrated mental health services, including a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit, alongside the new facilities for the Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drug Service and Intensive Care / High Dependency Unit.

Work is continuing on the new radiation oncology unit and upgrades to dialysis treatment spaces, enabling patients to access lifesaving care closer to home.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, put your health first and book your regular mammogram.

With a new BreastScreen WA clinic now open in South Bunbury, access to screening is even easier for women across the South West.

Breast screening plays an important role in detecting breast cancer early, often before symptoms appear.

Women aged 50 to 74 are encouraged to have a free mammogram every two years, while women aged 40 to 49 are also eligible for free screening.
