Wowsers!!! What wonderful week.

Last week I was privileged to join a group of people from all over the region on a tour to showcase our wonderful city.

What a mixed and marvellous bag. 😍
We toured the steelworks then up to the top of Hummock Hill to see the Iconic award winning jetty.
One visitor asked if we really had dolphins or if it was all hype and BS....oh they are real...a pod rocked up to prove it to him. Let's just say he was blown away🐬🐬🐬

We visited the bustling and bright SeaView Cafe before heading out to Point Lowly.
I was reminded of lots of gatherings and celebrations at the cottages for myself and family over the years...oh what funπŸ₯³πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸ₯‚πŸŸ as well as camping and fishing trips along the coast.
I must say I am REALLY looking forward to the renovation of the cottages, was super impressed with the work that has happened and is planned in camping bays. I was shocked (in a good way) at the facilities provided for tourists and locals to view our world wide attention grabbing cuttlefish and the plans for further enhance the facilities there and protect the cuttlefish.

I had, I'm embarassed to say, my first look at the Steel Cap Gallery at Tanderra and saw some young versions of some not so young folk I know around town in the great collection of photos.

We finished up showcasing our recently reopened airport and you could hear the out of town councillors making comments about how AMAZING it is. I know lots of people got to see it with the recent open day and were pretty stoked too.

Get out and see what's out there....you sometimes don't appreciate what you've got because you just don't see the growth.

New things for me JUST LAST WEEK...
The Seaview Cafe
The Visitor information pod
The viewing area works at Cuttlefish Drive
The improvements at various camping and BBQ areas in Fitzgerald Bay area. AND
The Steel Cap Gallery

Whyalla has got SO much going for it, SO many opportunities, SO many positives. YES we have challenges, YES we have to work hard to keep the town growing and YES we have lots more to achieve but jeez, we are certainly travelling in the right direction.

I personally can't wait to help Whyalla evolve and grow.
