Morning all
As you are probably all aware, the weather has backed off and we are back to a YELLOW Cyclone Advice status.
Please use caution getting around, as you have probably seen there are hazards about that will take some time to clean up.

We are affected by the 4/5G mobile service being down at the moment, however if you need assistance please call 132500 and log the task and we will get there as soon as we can.

We are still ORANGE Watch and Act this morning.
It’s going to be a rough day so please stay up to date with https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au throughout today.
Narelle looks to have turned a little more south and a bit closer to us than anticipated so we will see more weather accordingly.
Stay safe everyone.

We’ve been stepped up to an ORANGE Watch and Act.
Please make sure you are appropriately prepared, yards cleaned up etc.
Hopefully a bit of wind and rain but we all know that Cyclones can do the unexpected so please stay informed and keep an eye on https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au or the app.

Please also note the Total Fire Ban for tomorrow (midnight to midnight)

So for those that aren’t already aware, we have gone to a YELLOW Cyclone Advice yesterday.

Nothing to stress about but please keep an eye on https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au or download the app.

It doesn’t appear that it’ll be knocking on our door but these things have proven themselves to do some strange things over the years so it doesn’t hurt to stay informed and there is still the possibility of the poor weather associated with cyclones being in proximity to us, even without it dropping in to say hi.

Come on down on a Tuesday night.
We could use your support to keep this support going.

We know you work rosters, so do we.
We know you have kids sports, so do we.
We know you have families to attend to, so do we.
We know you love the local towns, so do we.
We know you’ll love volunteering, so do we.

We know you look good in orange, so do we 😜.

Hi all,
We are looking for some assistance from a local business/contractor that could take care of a little earthworks project for us.
We need an area around 15m x 15m run over with a bobcat or similar to get rid of the weedy top layer and then drop in and level out some crushed bluemetal.

If said business/contractor would like to donate this service or provide at a community service price that would be fantastic 👍🏻.

This area will be setup with storage and as an outdoor training space.

Please feel free to reach out here or give us a call on 91 871800 if you can help or have the contact of someone who might.

Cheers legends

No active warnings here now 🥳.
Pretty sure the bottle shop is open 😜.

To everyone that followed the warnings and prepared accordingly, thankyou. We understand that this ended up pretty minor in the big scheme of things but prior planning prevents…. making bad things worse.

For those that chose not to follow the warnings and were continuing activities as usual or having a good time playing in the weather. We got lucky this time, next time might not be so lucky, so please consider that if you get yourself into a bit of a pickle, there might not be people able to come and save you and even if we can get there, then that situation is putting us at unnecessary risk too. Please help us keep this community awesome.

Cheers all

I would just like to thank my team once again for the effort put in over the last couple days, you guys rock 👍🏻.

There is a lot of behind the scenes stuff that happens even though we might not get a huge volume of Requests For Assistance, the work still needs to be done, the meetings still take place, the prep work still occurs and we would be nothing without our members, THANK YOU.

To the other local emergency services groups who offered members if we needed them Thankyou

Point Samson Bush Fire
Marine Rescue Port Walcott
Wickham Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service

We had a personnel transfer this afternoon to get officers down from Port Hedland to Karratha so we racked up a few km in the trusty old Cruiser with a hand over in Whim Creek to finish off the day.

We are a small team and would love to see some extra members join the team, if you think you have what it takes to be awesome, come down and see us on Tuesday Nights. Whether you are great on the phone talking to people, love radio communications, make a top shelf cup of tea, take minutes like a champion, get a kick out of the socials, climb ladders, tie knots, sling tarps, cut trees, are great at finding lost things, or are just a great torch holder, whatever your existing skills are we have a role for you and what you don’t already know we can provide training for the rest.

Get on it peeps.

In case you missed it, we are back to Yellow Cyclone Advice.

Roads are still wet so please drive safe, slow down for flood waters as it can impact your ability to steer and brake. Keep an eye on Main Roads for any closures.

Please keep out of storm water and in particular running water, it’s dirty and the hidden obstacles being flushed through that can’t be seen might be the ones that catch you out.

Ok everyone, we are now officially back to ORANGE Cyclone Watch and Act.

This means you are no longer required to Stay Indoors and you are allowed to move around.

Please understand there are still weather conditions around and there may be hazards not yet identified so move around with caution.
Water on the roads will still present hazards while driving.
Storm water drains are NOT appropriate play areas so please kids, please stay out of storm water drains.

Check EmergencyWA and BOM for further info and check Main Roads for road closure info (it still reads as the road to Karratha is closed) please don’t drive on closed roads as they are closed for good reason and are not safe until assessed and reopened by Main Roads.

Stay safe all and reach out on 132500 if you need us to assist, we are here and on standby for you.

Morning everyone.
It might seem like everything has passed but please please realise we are still on a RED Cyclone Emergency Warning.

THIS MEANS WE ARE STILL TO REMAIN INSIDE.

We are starting the process to determine if it is safe to reduce the alert status given the system eye has moved past but there is still weather out there and the current RED still stands.

Please be safe and stay home just a bit longer until the alert status is safe to change.
