With it officially being the first day of spring it is important that residents do the right thing.
When cutting lawns and garden plants it is essential that green waste is disposed of in either green waste bins if available of red general waste. Often staff find lawn clippings and branches dumped on public land.
While it may be natural material, throwing garden waste into bushland can be hugely detrimental. Unlike rubbish that generally stays where it was dumped, garden waste can contain seeds or root fragments and spread into nearby bushland.
