🧶 Look at some of the amazing creations from Craft! ✂️

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen some pretty wonderful projects come together and we thought we’d share a few of them with you! 💕

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or haven’t picked up a craft project in years, Craft is a great place to come along, have a cuppa and spend some time with others.

We meet every Wednesday at the Old Court House in Wingham between 10am - 1pm

Bring along your own project or have a look through some of our supplies and see what inspires you.

☕ Tea, coffee and a little morning tea are provided.

🎨 ONA 2026 - WE HAVE LISTENED… 🎨

We’re getting ready to celebrate the incredible creativity of our community at the ONA (Our Neighbourhood Art) Showcase on Thursday 24 September at 6pm!

And this year, we’ve been listening to your feedback. ❤️

After hearing what you loved and what could be improved from last year, we’ve made a few changes to help make the night even better:

💡 More outdoor lighting – we’ve sourced additional lighting to make the outdoor areas around the showcase brighter and more welcoming.

🕐 Extended opening hours – there will be more opportunities to come along and enjoy the exhibition if you are unavailable opening night. We’ll share the full opening hours later this week!

🛍️ A smoother purchasing process – we’ve streamlined how artwork is purchased to help reduce the big build-up in the courtroom and make the process easier for everyone.

We’re so excited to see all the amazing artwork come together and share another special ONA showcase with our community.

🙌 COMMUNITY PLACE SEPTEMBER

September is looking like a fun month at MVNS!

Come along to Community Place each Thursday for a chance to get creative, connect with others, enjoy some good food and spend a little time together.

There’s no need to book and everyone is welcome. Bring a friend, bring the kids, or just come along and meet some new people.

Wow, what an amazing week of ONA artwork!

We’ve had so many wonderful pieces walk through our doors, often tucked safely inside an ONA bag. Even more special have been the stories shared with us about what the artwork means to the people who created it.

The official deadline has arrived, but we just can’t bear the thought of any artwork being left behind!

So, we’re opening the door for a few last-minute entries next week. If you’ve been meaning to submit a piece, there’s still time to get it to us.

We can’t wait to see what else comes through our doors. ONA is shaping up to be something very special.

Meet Kate S!

We’re excited to welcome Kate to the MVNS team, where she leads our Migrant Settlement Service.

Kate is also new to the area and knows firsthand how much a little friendly support, guidance and connection can mean when settling into a new place.

She brings experience from state and federal government agencies, skills in nature-based early education, and a love of gardening, composting and all things green, and the wonderful way these things can bring people together.

For people who are new to Australia and looking to build a happy, safe and connected life in our beautiful Mid North Coast communities, the Migrant Settlement Service is here to help.

A big thank you to the Manning Hospital Stage 2 Redevelopment team for lending a helping hand at Manning Valley Neighbourhood Services earlier this week!
Team members from Hansen Yuncken (the builders), Health Infrastructure, Hunter New England Local Health District and Mace (Project Manager) recently spent an afternoon painting our shed, helping create the perfect blank canvas for an exciting future mural project with local students.
This project will give young people the opportunity to showcase their creativity while brightening our Centre. It was wonderful to see so much teamwork, community spirit and enthusiasm on display throughout the day.
We can’t wait to see the students bring the shed to life with their artistic designs. Thank you to everyone involved for supporting our community!
