Winmalee Brigade would like to congratulate Blue Mountains RFS Deputy Group Captain (DGC) Peter Bennett on being announced in the Kings Birthday honours list, being awarded the Australia Fire Service Medal for distinguished service.

Pete has been a member of Katoomba-Leura brigade since 1974. Today he is a DGC in the west sector of the mountains. As a brigade we appreciate his leadership at fires, hazard reductions and training.

This award is a reflection of Pete’s ongoing contribution and dedication to the Blue Mountains brigades and is very well deserved! πŸš’πŸš’πŸš’
