A Total Fire Ban has been declared for the Wimmera and North East fire districts on Wednesday 28 January 2026.

No fires can be lit, or be allowed to remain alight, in the open air from 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM. More information: www.cfa.vic.gov.au/firebans

Christmas came early for Winton Fire Brigade when they received a new 4.4c Iveco tanker.

Just a friendly reminder when you are conducting a burn off monitor weather conditions (e.g: Wind Speeds) and ensure you have adequate water, firefighting equipment and a adequate fire break around where you are burning.
Continue to monitor and patrol the burn off for sometime after the burn has been completed also.
Please register your burn off on the burn off hotline 1800 668 511.
