On Saturday 28 Jun, five teams participated in the Tractor Pull. LWC was pipped at the post by the reigning champs, placing 2nd - 15m in 14.09 seconds! Over $700 was raised for the Canungra Scouts in a fantastic community event.

On Friday the 28th of February, Kokoda Barracks hosted the Renee Nicholls Memorial Triathlon for 2025.

This year over 200 members competed in a competitive event of running, swimming and riding with a strong sense of competition and teamwork for the largest participation since this event started.

On Saturday the 15th of February 2025, LWC hosted a Family Day for members, their friends and families.
Our family day was supported by the local RSL, Legacy, Soldier on and funded by the Army Amenities Fund.
We would like to thank all who attended and made the day a wonderful event.

Warning Notice: Hazard Reduction Burn at Kokoda Barracks 8th - 11th Oct 2024.

A prescribed hazard reduction burn will be conducted on sections of the Canungra Field Training Area (Kokoda Barracks) which will generate smoke over the period of the 8th to the 11th of October 2024.

In accordance with State Legislation, planned hazard reduction burns are conducted for a range of purposes including:

- Reducing the likelihood and severity of bushfires on the training area and surrounding areas.
- Improving the ecosystems health and resilience.

A smoke haze may be evident for some days after the completion of the burns.

The Australian Defence Force thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this essential activity is being conducted.

On the 19th of June, Canungra Wing had the opportunity to farewell SGM Robert Scott (centre holding our gift), our American exchange SNCO and thank him for his efforts and professionalism over the past two years.

On Saturday the 15th of June, Kokoda Barracks hosted the Canungra Combat Challenge alongside Legacy Brisbane.
Over 60 teams of 4 competed across an arduous course in the local training area.
This event culminated in over $150,000 being raised for Legacy and showcased the resolve of the participants in completing the event.

Enhancing relationships with our near region partners. Land Warfare Centre South Queensland is training soldiers from Fiji and Tonga on the foundational skills, knowledge and attributes in leadership, instruction and field craft at the junior non-commissioned officer level.

This includes instructing and qualifying our international trainees on the use of Australian weapon systems.

Embedding international trainees brings a new perspective to the course and enables the development of peer networks that last a life time.
