This week has been an absolute roller-coaster of emotions. πŸ˜”
So many rescues without happy endings. πŸ’” We are so limited with access to after hours vet assistance as well. It's sadly not all cute joey cuddles. πŸ€—
These were two of my late rescues yesterday. The Whiptail was an RSPCA rescue call. She had a live pinkie onboard. Sadly she was too small to be viable and also had suffered injuries from the car hit. She passed warm in the incubator a few hours later.
The flying fox had a run in with a car also. πŸ¦‡ The caring couple transported to me. A big thank you to Bat Conservation and Rescue Queensland for sending someone to transport him/her to the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital for assessment. πŸ™ I haven't had a chance to check for an update yet.
Also a big thank you to Fernvale Vets for euthanasing two of the unwell adult Brushtail Possums I recieved in during the week. πŸ’”
One was definitely a dog attack ontop of a very advanced case of exudative dermatitis. The other was extremely underweight with numerous infected wounds. Euthanasia was sadly the only option for both. No more suffering atleast. 🌈

A Rednecked Wallaby pinkie from the RSPCA and a shy, little Whiptail Wallaby boy from Kensington Grove. One Mum was a car hit and the other spooked and either dropped or tossed her joey. πŸ˜”
Just when it's release time and you think you'll be quiet for awhile. 🦘 The Whippy has been called Ziggy. Named by a sweet, little girl who was involved in his rescue. ❀️ He was set up perfectly in a pillowcase with a soft, warm heat source.
A lovely, caring Mum with young children who are growing up with respect and care for animals. πŸ€—
If only everyone was the same. Always remember young eyes are watching. πŸ‘€ This is the best chance our wildlife has. πŸ™

Two of the four new arrivals today. 🦘🦘🦘🐾 Meet Fraser and Lana. πŸ₯° Lana only came into care yesterday when her Mum was sadly hit by a car. πŸ˜” Unfortunately they sometimes just jump out of nowhere. The caring couple rescued Lana and got her care. πŸ™ If only everyone in the same position would. These two have come from another carer so they can settle in here, their future release site, and not have the stress of being moved again. 🦘 It's great when carers all work together for the best outcome of the animal. ❀️

# HIS HUMAN FAMILY HAVE SEEN THE POST AND CONTACTED ME. ❀️

Hoping the lovely family in Fernvale who contacted me with this big boy, see this. πŸ™ This male, adult Brushtail Possum came in a couple of weeks ago very underweight and with exudative dermatitis. He's treated well and has put on some weight as well. ❀️ It's time for him to go home. 🏑 Unfortunately I lost their contact details when my phone broke. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Please give me a call or text if this handsome man was yours.

Release week for this group of happy and healthy fat bums. πŸ₯°
A plump, muscular tail base is a sign of good nutritional health. ❀️ They take after their carer Mum. 🫣 I could definitely lose a liitle off mine though. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Possum sitting these little Ringtail Possums again for a few days. πŸ₯° This old phone doesn't have the greatest camera unfortunately. I just love these guys. ❀️ They'll be moving into an avairy when they go home this time. πŸ›– I remember when they were all between around 48gr and 65gr when they first came here. All 5 are doing well. πŸ™

PHOTO FOR ATTENTION.
I've had an early call this morning for a hit roo on Lowood Mindin Road. Doesn't look to have any broken bones but jumped off into a private paddock with blood from his/her nose. πŸ˜” More than likely internal injuries. If everyone in or passing through that area could keep an eye out please. πŸ‘€
