The AusAlert national test is happening today at 2pm.

All compatible mobile devices - including tablets and smart watches - will vibrate and you may hear a loud siren-like warning that lasts about 10 seconds.

If you receive the alert while driving or riding, stay calm and don’t touch your phone. Mobile phone laws still apply.

If you think it may not be safe for you, or someone you care about, to receive the alert, take the following steps at least one hour before the test:
▪️ Turn your safety device off, or
▪️ Switch it to aeroplane mode (if available), and
▪️ Keep it off or in aeroplane mode for 24 hours.

REMINDER 📢

Tomorrow The Australian National Alert Test is scheduled. depending your location you may receive the alert between 11am-2pm.

See the post for more details 👇

On Monday 27 July 2026, we’re testing Australia’s new national warning system AusAlert.

An AusAlert test message will be sent to all compatible mobile devices across Australia at the same time. Depending on your location, you may receive the alert between 11am and 2pm local time. The test will occur during school hours in all states and territories.

AusAlert messages may appear on the phones, tablets and smart watches of children and teens. Apple iPads will not receive AusAlerts.

To prepare for AusAlert, parents, carers and guardians should help children understand:
📱 what AusAlert is.
⚠️what alerts mean.
✅ what to do if they receive an alert.

You may have already received information from your school about AusAlert testing. Follow your school’s advice about phone and device use.

Emergency alerts might be unfamiliar or unsettling for some young people. Our resources for parents, carers and students explain AusAlert and provide support information. Link in the comments. 👇

✅ Follow the manufacturer's instructions
✅ Never overload your powerboard
✅ Check it regularly for signs of damage or wear

A few simple checks can help prevent electrical fires and keep your home and family safe.

Hear that random chirp from your smoke alarm?

Yep… it’s not trying to annoy you — it’s telling you the battery is on its last legs.

Swap your old alarms for 10‑year lithium battery smoke alarms and give yourself long‑term peace of mind (and fewer midnight chirps).

Only working smoke alarms save lives.

🚒 Low Structure Success!

A massive congratulations to our five members who have just qualified in Low Structure!

Over the past week they’ve been building their skills and confidence, finishing up with hands‑on training at VEMTEC Wangaratta — a facility that puts firefighters into realistic emergency scenarios and strengthens their capability to respond to isolated structure fires.

We’re incredibly proud of their dedication and excited to see these members bring their new skills into future brigade operations. Outstanding effort from all involved!
