Our famous mango sale is back for 2026

7kg single layer trays of delicious hand picked mature Kensington Pride mangoes straight from the farm in tropical North Queensland for just $31 via pre order only.

Each tray will have between 12 and 22 mangoes depending on fruit size.

You can place an order in 1, 2 or all 3 weeks if you wish.

Estimated mango arrival dates are looking to be earlier this year (as always dates are dependent on when the mango crop is ready to harvest)

When the clocks change tomorrow for the start of daylight savings don’t forget to check your smoke alarms?

Properly working smoke alarms help ensure you and your family has the best chance of escape and survival if a fire was to occur in your home.

To make sure your smoke alarms are working complete these simple checks:
✅ Test all your smoke alarms by pushing the test button to make sure they beep.
✅ Dust your smoke alarms with a vacuum cleaner brush.
✅ Check if your smoke alarms contain a 9v battery, these batteries must be replaced at least one every year (always write the installation date on the battery).
✅ Check how old your smoke alarms are. If they are more than 10 years old, it’s time to replace them (we recommend installing interconnected smoke alarms containing a lithium battery that has a 10 year lifespan).
✅ If you are replacing your smoke alarms consider installing them in each bedroom and the garage as well if they don’t have them already.

REMEMBER: Only working smoke alarms save lives and every second counts.

Today on National Police Remembrance Day we pay tribute to state and federal law enforcement personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice while doing the critical job they do for the community.

Everyday law enforcement personnel are there for us at the very worst times, the most dangerous times, very stressful times and sadly tragic times.

We are incredibly proud to work alongside the dedicated members of Victoria Police, and thank them for their constant dedication, bravery and commitment.

Is hosting family or friends for a Grand final day BBQ part of your big game plan?

To make sure you only risk burning the sausages follow these simple BBQ maintenance tips:

1️⃣ Check to see if the gas cylinder is damaged, if this is the case don't use or refill it, simply exchange it at a reputable supplier.

2️⃣ Check the hose and connections to make sure they haven't deteriorated causing leaks by dousing them in soapy water and looking to see if bubbles appear. If you do see bubbles, you’ll know that gas is escaping and it’s time to check the connections are tight, maybe replace some parts or look at calling a licensed gas fitter.

3️⃣ make sure your BBQ is clean, excess fat residue can ignite and cause a fire.

4️⃣ Make sure there is plenty of room between your BBQ and anything flammable.

5️⃣ Be aware that if the wind blows the BBQ flames out, unburnt gas can build up to dangerous levels. If this occurs simply turn off the gas at the cylinder, and wait a few minutes to allow the unburnt gas to dissipate before you light the BBQ again.

6️⃣ If a fire does start from a gas leak, don't try to extinguish the flames. If it's safe to do so, turn off the gas at the cylinder and call 000.

We offer our deepest condolences to NSW Police Force after the tragic loss of Constable Mia Lay in the line of duty early this morning.

Our thoughts go out to Constable Mia Lay’s family, friends, colleagues and community during this difficult time.

We also keep the second officer involved in the incident in our prayers who was injured and is currently in hospital.

Last Saturday 3 of our volunteer firefighters continued a decade long tradition of stepping up to the challenge by participating in the grueling Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb.

The event requires firefighters to ascend 28 floors of stairs at the Crown Metropol wearing their firefighting gear and equipment weighing 25kg.

The event helped raise over $1,000,000 in vital funds for crisis support and cancer research through Lifeline, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and the 000 Foundation.

At 10:14 pm Melbourne time Friday (11th September) will mark the 25th anniversary of the chain of events that caused the world changed forever.

We remember the events of September 11th 2001 which tragically claimed 2,977 lives and injured over 6,000 others.

We especially remember the 343 FDNY firefighters and paramedics, 23 NYPD officers and 37 Port Authority officers who ran towards danger making the ultimate sacrifice on that day in New York City.

We also remember those involved and attending first responders who made it through that day only to loose their lives due to 9/11 related illnesses or su***de.

Your courage and sacrifice inspires not only those left behind but also those who have come after.

It was an absolute privilege to help Whittlesea Fire Brigade celebrate 100 years community serving their community by participating in their torchlight celebration on Saturday night.

Quick-thinking prevents garage fire from spreading to the house.

When a fire started in the Moore family’s garage, quick thinking helped prevent the fire from spreading further into their house.

Seeing thick, black smoke coming into the home from the garage, Linton and his daughter Olivia kept the internal door closed, immediately called Triple Zero and safely evacuated the property with their dogs.

Their quick actions helped make sure they were safe and prevented the fire from spreading through the home.

Working smoke alarms save lives and should be installed throughout the home in all bedrooms, hallways, living areas, garages and interconnected where possible, so when one alarm sounds, all alarms activate.
