Wondai Heritage Museum Open Day

Well done to everyone involved in making it such a great and successful day! It was wonderful to see our local history and heritage being shared with the community.

The Manual Telephone Switchboard is contained in a Polished Wooden Cabinet. It has 199 local lines and 6 local exchanges. It operated at the Wondai Post Office in the 1950s. It was the only form of telephone at the time and was operated by local staff.

The Telephone Exchange was last used as an exchange on 1st September 1980.
