Our school came together today for a powerful Reconciliation Assembly. Students celebrated culture through song, finishing with a performance of Beds Are Burning. A meaningful reminder of the importance of truth, respect, and walking together toward reconciliation.

Our Foundation students had an unforgettable day at school today with the Wild Action incursion. They were absolutely buzzing with excitement as they learned about native animals up close. So much curiosity, so many brave little hands, and plenty of big smiles. What a fantastic way to bring learning to life.

A huge congratulations to our amazing Year 3-6 students who represented Woodend Primary School at the 2026 CDSSA Cross Country Championships at Hanging Rock today.
Our runners showed incredible effort, resilience, and school pride out on the course.
Our student cheer squad brought fantastic energy, lifting every athlete as they raced.
A big thank-you to our parent community for your support and help on the course.
Well done to all our runners, supporters, and families — you represented Woodend brilliantly!

🌏 Earth Hour at School!
Today our whole school came together to celebrate Earth Hour in the most creative way. Students explored the outdoors, collecting leaves, sticks, petals, and other natural treasures. Back in class, they transformed their finds into beautiful collages that celebrate the world around us.
It was a simple reminder of how powerful it is when we pause, connect with nature, and care for our planet.

It was so nice to see so many of our school community represent WPS today by marching in the Anzac Day parade alongside many others in our community. As our school captains laid the wreath and WPS students proudly sang the Australian national anthem during the Anzac Day service, it was equally pleasing to see several of our students representing community groups such as Cubs/Scouts and the CWA.
Thank you to all the families that attended this very special commemorative service.

We invite our WPS families and students to attend the Anzac Day Service today in Woodend.
Students wishing to participate in the Anzac March, please assemble on the High Street slip road outside the Bradley Curtains by 11.20, the March will end at the Woodend RSL.
We strongly encourage students to wear their school uniform.
The Anzac Service will be held at the front of the Woodend RSL, 32 Anslow Street.
