Life Centre for Youth Development & Empowerment Inc. was born from a story of resilience, courage, and hope. Founded in 2013 by a visionary young man from multicultural backgrounds, our organisation was created out of lived experience — a shared journey shaped by the hardship of civil wars, displacement, and the struggle to rebuild.Our founder was directly impacted by conflict, facing trauma, loss

, and the challenges of starting over in unfamiliar lands. Yet, through determination, education, capacity building, and the opportunities that came with their refugee journeys, he transformed pain into purpose and adversity into strength.

It was from this transformation that Life Centre was created — a place where experience meets action, and where the lessons learned from survival are turned into pathways for others to thrive. Our founder understood firsthand the power of community, education, and empowerment. He knew that with the right support, young people and families could overcome even the most difficult barriers and create a future filled with opportunity.

Today, Life Centre for Youth Development & Empowerment Inc. stands as a beacon of hope and possibility. We are more than a charity — we are a movement dedicated to empowering youth, women, and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and mainstream communities. Our programs build essential life skills, leadership, and resilience, while promoting inclusion, equality, and participation.

From humble beginnings to a thriving community organisation, our story is a testament to what’s possible when people come together with a shared vision: to inspire change, break cycles of disadvantage, and build a future where every young person has the chance to rise, lead, and shine.

What an amazing time at the Salisbury Carnival Fringe Festival! 🎉
It was truly wonderful to see our young people connecting with their community, building friendships, and engaging positively with their peers in such a vibrant environment. A big thank you to the City of Salisbury for organising this free event and for creating a safe and welcoming space where our community — especially our young people — could participate, connect, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

🏀 Another great weekend basketball activity!
Our Boys vs Girls game was full of energy and fun. It was wonderful seeing young people from diverse cultures connecting, engaging, and building friendships through sport.
