Woodville West Community Garden A community garden in the heart of Woodville West, South Australia. Our garden was once a kindergarten and the shed still remains from those days.

The Woodville West Community Garden is located at the heart of Woodville West alongside the Frank Mitchell Reserve. We have over 30 garden beds which our members pay an annual fee to lease to grow their own produce. We are also home to the Woodville West Grow Free Cart, a perpetual share cart where you can 'take what you need, give what you can'

In 2022 you will see colour and creativity added to

our garden, with a mural recently commissioned by our great City of Charles Sturt Council. We will also be holding events for our community to participate and learn a new skill or gain permaculture skills as we encourage a more sustainable future through gardening. Our marketing team is running out of ideas.

We've tried signs. We've tried reminders. We've even been "Doing Good S**t" with our courtesy compostable dog bags.

But some people still aren't getting it. 💩

All our ideas are starting to feel a bit 'crappy', so we're crowdsourcing.

Who doesn’t love an iceblock in this weather?!

Sadly, we lost one of our chooks this week, and she will be dearly missed. We’re doing what we can to keep the rest of the girls nice and cool, including some very special iced treats!

It’s going to be a hot one today! Here’s some of our gorgeous visitors cooling off in our birdbath! 🦜💦

If you can, don’t forget to leave out some water for the wildlife, with some twigs/rocks in the dish so the bees and butterflies can also have a drink! 🐝🦋🚰

Love saying hello to our chooks? Would you like to help us take care of them?
We’re looking for some wonderful volunteers in our community to commit to letting the chooks out of their henhouse in the mornings (before or around 8am), and popping them back in around sunset. We will provide full training for you! Even just one shift a week would be gratefully appreciated!
