Yuraygir Wildlife

Yuraygir Wildlife This page is devoted to what I find in Yuraygir National Park, northern NSW. If you have any interesting photos taken in the national park please share. Hello.

You can scroll through posts or you can go to 'Photos' then choose an album that interests you. I am a lover of all things wild. I live in Wooli, a town surrounded by Yuraygir National Park. This page is devoted to sharing some of the treasures of this national park. If you are interested in staying close to where many of these photos are taken, I would recommend, Wooli River Lodges (I used to own

it). This resort welcomes all nature lovers, fishers, boaters to our paradise. Phone number is 0490 50 30 10.

Some pretty creatures came onto my cloth last night. It'd be great to see them in the bush during the day, but probably next to impossible. .

And, Christmas Beetles ain't just Christmas Beetles! There are many different types of Christmas Beetles. I've seen five different species so far this season. If you are interested, the Australian Museum has an excellent app called Christmas Beetle Identification Guide (available for both Apple and Android).

On a rainy day like today, it's good to remember what birds we are lucky enough to see around the Wooli Wooli River on a lovely day. Here are some I've seen recently.

Found a beautiful small cicada in the bush this morning. This is a Galanga labeculata or Double-spotted Cicada.

Have you ever wondered what is in those curled up dead leaves that exist near a spider web? Or what the small spiders that sit in the middle of an orb web actually look like? Or what might lie under layers of Paperbark bark? Or what makes those big spiderless orb webs that you crash into when walking in the bush? Or what the tiny spiders you see only because you see the scuttle look like? Maybe, maybe not. Many of them are beautiful and I love using my camera lens to 'see' these creatures.
