Today Woombah brigade attended an car accident on highway. Thankfully no one was hurt.
When you see lights flashing slow down and move over. Keep our first responders safe. 🔥

A few of our wonderful volunteers got together on Wednesday morning to put together goodie bags and other information for our Get Ready Day on Saturday the 29th. Please wonder down to the markets to have a chat with the lovely members of our brigade. Check out the local stalls and grab yourselves a coffee! 👩‍🚒🔥

The Clarence Valley RFS group 2 (Woombah, Iluka, Ashby, Lawrence, Dilkoon and Trenyr) participated in a joint training event yesterday at the Clarence Valley Training Facility. We ran through multiple different scenarios readying ourselves for the fire season and familiarising ourselves with other brigades. Was a fun day practising skills as well as learning new ones. 🔥🔥🔥

Come Join the Woombah RFS at the Woombah Markets on Saturday 29th of August for our Get Ready Day. Fire season can be a scary and confusing time for a lot of people but we are here to help! We will have games for the kids as well as information about how to prepare your home or property for the bushfire season, permits and much more! We are excited to see you all there. 🥰🔥🚒

Between fire seasons is when our brigade gets more qualifications. Over the last 6 or so months our members have been busy learning. We have participated in first aid, Breathing Apparatus operators, Village firefighter, Crew Leader village, Off road driving, Advanced Firefighter and Chain saw operator. If you want to learn more about the brigade and what we do we are having our Get Ready Day at the Woombah Market on the 29th of August. Looking forward to seeing you all 🔥🔥🚒

Over the course of the Week Woombah Brigade has assisted with multiple Hazard Reductions along with our neighbouring brigades.
Burns now require a fire permit which can be obtained via the NSW RFS website.

On Monday Woombah Deputy Captain Joseph Lee was awarded the Commissioner's Certificate of Commendation at the NSW RFS St. Florian’s Day Awards ceremony.
DC Joseph Lee acted swiftly to extinguish a cooking fire at a residence in Harwood on 2nd May 2025 preventing if from spreading further throughout the house.
We’re very proud of Joe’s actions on that day.
Congratulations Joe and to all of the worthy awards recipients including members from Lawrence & Tyringham Brigades.

🔥This afternoon Woombah Brigade responded to a bush fire at Tabbimoble. 🔥

Upon arrival we found a fire burning along the eastern side of the highway and were quickly redirected to a grass fire burning on the property.

With crews from Ashby, Gulmarrad, Casino, Wyrallah and Woodburn, the fire was under control within a couple of hours.

This is a reminder that even though permits are not required at this time you still need to notify the NSW RFS of your burn. This can easily be done via the NSW RFS website.
