Nambour show is on 12/13/14th June.

The troop has been invited to be present at the opening ceremony in the main arena- Friday 1730 with a number of our troopers representing the 2nd LH.

We also have 3 of our group taking part in the tentpegging display from 1630 Friday Saturday and Sunday in the main arena. This will be a fast paced display and well worth the watch.

Your chance to show your town through the lens

Nambour residents and visitors are being encouraged to show the town through their own eyes as part of the Nambour Through Your Lens Photographic Competition 2026.

The competition, run by I am Nambour, Nambour Chamber of Commerce and Sunshine Coast Council, opens on May 6, with entries closing at midnight on May 31. “This is your opportunity to show us your Nambour,” organiser Rhonda Billett said. “We have various categories for people to enter. The judges will be looking for classic as well as creative photo entries that focus on Nambour’s CBD, as well as our lush green spaces, wildlife, waterfalls, waterways and more.”

Rhonda said the competition was also a chance to celebrate the local businesses supporting the prize pool.

“We have to thank our local business sponsors who have donated the amazing prize pool for our lucky winners, including Korsos Photography, The Namba, Uptown Hair Studio, , Hammond Optometry & Eyewear, DownTown Nambour, Bad Habit Records and Collectables and I Am Nambour,” she said.

Entering is easy. Visit the I Am Nambour website and follow the links to the Nambour Through Your Lens Photography Competition, where entrants can fill out their details and upload their images.

“We have done a lot of shoots and video sessions at I Am Nambour to promote the town over the years, but now, the team and I really want to see it through your lens,” Rhonda said.

“There has never been a better time to get clicking. The judges and I are very excited to see photos you take.”

Nambour Chamber of Commerce vice-president Brian Bugenhagen said the Chamber was pleased to support the project. “The Chamber is extremely excited to be involved with this creative project to showcase the natural beauty of this town,” Mr Bugenhagen said.

Nambour professional photographer Mike Korsos, of Korsos Photography, said the competition would help people share their connection to the town.

“I’m excited to have this extra level of connection with the community, to discover what they see and how they feel about our town through their cameras,” Mr Korsos said.

People can follow the competition via the I Am Nambour Facebook and Instagram pages.

We have received this image in the memory of Cpl Albert CJ Graffunder of the 2nd Lighthorse Regt.
It is always wonderful to hear from relatives of these men and the hardships they and their horses endured.
Thankyou to the Kaddatz family and the memory of the 2nd Lighthorse Regt. 🫡

It has been a hefty schedule for the troop this April in the lead up to ANZAC Day.
A big thank you to all that have participated or assisted the Troop, especially the WCBA, Salvation Army Band and Captain Kate Donaldson, the Woombye-Palmwoods Scout Group, our magnificent Piper, Robert Gibb, and all who attended today from the Woombye Community.
LEST WE FORGET

Before the sun rises, we gather in quiet reflection.

This Saturday, 25 April at 5:30am, 2nd Light Horse Regiment - Woombye Troop will hold an ANZAC Day service.

In the stillness of dawn, we honour the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of those who have served our country, past and present. It is a moment to stand together as a community, to remember their stories, and to ensure they are never forgotten.

Lest we forget. 🌺

A short time ago we received assistance from the Bendigo Bank in Woombye to purchase two dehumidifiers for use in our museum.
I am happy to say that after all the rain yesterday, our displays are nice and dry.

Thanks again to the Bendigo Community Bank Woombye for this timely assistance.
