🌟 Introducing the Woongoolba Warriors! 🌟

Today, we wrapped up our final 2-hour training session before the big Kokoda event on June 13th! 🏞️ With 9-11 km under our belts, we’re feeling more ready than ever to tackle the 18km challenge ahead.

Next weekend’s 5km parkrun will be a walk in the “Park” compared to the hills of Nerang Forest we’ve been conquering! 🌳💪 These Kokoda kids make waking up in the dark on Saturday mornings a breeze. Their energy and camaraderie shine through as we splash through mud, sludge, and even spotted a koala (Well not really, although there was a roo or two!) 🐨

📣 School Athletics Carnival Update 🦆🌧️

Well… the wet weather has struck again and our School Athletics Carnival has officially been postponed. At this point, the ducks have claimed ownership of the oval, although I did spot a few ibis and plovers out there this morning doing swimming lessons in preparation too. The ducks officially have competition. 🦆🪿🏊‍♂️

We have a new date pencilled in for:

📅 Tuesday 23rd June (Week 10)

And yes… I said pencilled in very deliberately, because it seems every time we lock in a date, the rain clouds take it as a personal invitation to attend. ☔😂

Third time lucky… maybe? 🤞

Thank you everyone for your patience and flexibility. We’re still looking forward to a fantastic day once the weather finally decides to cooperate and our ovals are dry enough to use!

Today our students joined children across Australia to enjoy this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime book, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, illustrated by Jake A. Minton. ⚽🦘

It was wonderful to come together to celebrate reading, imagination, teamwork and the joy of sharing stories together. 💛
