Another Saturday of training with our mates Chidlow Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade
This time focusing on ‘Burnovers’.

Every year we conduct burnover training as apart of our skills.
If you’re thinking what is a burnover? Well a burnover is a dangerous emergency event where a moving fire overtakes and moves directly over firefighters or their vehicles, leaving them caught in the flames when escape routes fail.

While we teach to always place our crews in positions that make it easy for us to escape sometimes bushfires can be unpredictable and change situations very quickly, so it’s critical to be ready if these situations should occur.

Thank you Chidlow for having us along to train with you again, we love the team work and getting to share our knowledge and skills.

Wooroloo VBFB needs a cleaner 🧹🧽

We are looking for a local cleaner to clean our station for the next 6 months, we require the station to be cleaned for two hours once a month ideally before our monthly meetings which are the third Tuesday of every month, or prior to any events being held at the station.

You will need an ABN number, we are happy to provide cleaning supplies if need be.

Please send us a message if you can be of any assistance.

Thank you

Just about every mobile phone in Australia...

And some smart watches and tablets too - will vibrate, play a loud siren-like sound and display an AusAlert critical alert for roughly 10 seconds on Monday 27 July 2026 at 12 noon AWST.

In the future, AusAlert may be used for a range of emergencies, including bushfires, serious public safety incidents, animal or plant diseases and pandemics.

This alert is not sent through the Emergency WA app or any other emergency services app. AusAlert is a new federal government initiative that forms part of Australia's nationally operated emergency alert system, designed to deliver warnings during serious emergencies.
