The intent of the Woy Woy South Public School (WWSPS) page is to celebrate student achievement, promote quality education in a caring environment and to communicate to the school community activities taking place at our school. Woy Woy South Public School encourages interaction from Facebook users but is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to this page
. Comments posted by users do not in any way reflect the opinions or policies of Woy Woy South Public School or NSW Education. We ask that people making comments on the page show respect for their fellow users by ensuring the discussion remains civil and supportive. We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to remove comments that are racist, sexist, profane, violent, obscene, spam, that advocate illegal activity, contain falsehoods or are wildly off-topic, or that libel, incite or threaten Woy Woy South Public School students, employees, guests or other individuals. We also do not permit messages selling products or promoting commercial, political or other ventures. Facebook encourages all users to utilise the “Report” link should the find abusive content. If you have any concerns or issues regarding your child or the school please do not post these on our page. We encourage you to please contact the school directly on (02)43411899 so these issues can be dealt with in the appropriate manner. Any breach of these 'terms of use' may result in individuals comments being removed and blocked from the WWSPS page
Please note that the Facebook terms and conditions state that no one under the age of 13 years should have a Facebook profile. Therefore, any primary students who 'Like' or comment on the Woy Woy South Public School page will be deleted and reported immediately. Comments posted on the page do not in any way reflect the opinions or policies of Woy Woy South Public School. Friending Staff on Facebook
Please note that the Department of Education has this advice for teachers 'Friending' parents on Facebook:
“The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred, making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with the parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal.”
In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends. Respect, Responsibility and Relationships are the core values at Woy Woy South Public School and need to be adhered to by all members of our Facebook community.
