WWPS recently commemorated National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week. All students engaged in a lesson with Miss Huntriss who shared a personal story about the Stolen Generations and the significance of National Sorry Day.

Classes created a collaborative artwork related to the 2026 Reconciliation Week theme 'All In'.

The Koori Choir performed their first song at assembly, 'From Paradise' by Uncle Archie Roach; a song about experiences of being removed from family as part of the Stolen Generations. After the assembly, families were invited to come together to learn to weave and reflect upon about our shared journey towards reconciliation.

Pyjama Day = comfy clothes, big smiles and lots of fun!

We noticed plenty of matching pyjamas across the school—great minds think alike! 👀

So we couldn’t resist recreating an iconic *Kardashian* moment for a bit of fun 🤭

Wednesdays at the Woy

Each week, students in 3-6S engage in STEM lessons designed to spark curiosity and develop critical thinking skills. These hands-on activities integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, offering opportunities to solve real-world problems, collaborate with peers, and build creative solutions. Through weekly challenges and projects, students cultivate a love for learning and prepare for future innovations in a fun and supportive environment. This week students designed, created, and tested their own parachutes, exploring how different shapes and materials affect flight and air resistance. They used different types of paper and cardboard, string and explored how the placement of the string impacted the parachute. They had a great time!

Last week, our students had a fantastic time participating in the Netball Gala Day!

It was a day full of teamwork, encouragement, skill-building and plenty of smiles. We were proud to see our students represent our school with such positive sportsmanship and enthusiasm, both on and off the court.

Drop some words of encouragement in the comments if you're proud of our netball stars and the way they represented our school!
